My wife and I stayed here the last week of April on a 5-night city trip. We had a great deal since we took advantage of the Hilton's 'any weekend anywhere program' which offered a a 40% reduction on bed & breakfast - but it had to be booked and pre-paid in January. Check-in was fast as lightning, check-out too. The ladies at the reception spoke very well English as did the concierge and doormen. We had a de-luxe twin room on the 17th floor with a great view over the square with the 3 stations below. The large room was well-equipped but not overly spacious - but I assume space is a valuable thing in Moscow. We had 2 small bottles of complimentary mineral water on our 1st night, but for every other night we had to ask for it. What's the use of coffee-making facilities when no water is provided? The bottles of Evian water in the mini bar would have cost us an arm and a leg! OK, we could have used tap water but didn't know if it was potable - and if it was, I'm pretty sure it had a chlorinated taste. Breakfast was a delight, catering as well for health freaks as for cholesterol addicts. Apart from the fruits, juices, yoghurts, cold cuts, cheese and bakery stuff, there was a good choice of smoked fish like salmon and herring. Even some bubbles were provided, but we didn't try these. If you love eggs though, forget about the scrambled eggs in the warmers of the hot buffet. Better ask one of the waitresses for a couple of freshly fried eggs or an omelette. It takes just a few minutes. So far the good news. The bad news is about dinner. If you're prepared to wait for a considerable time and pay 50 Euros per person for a bowl of soup, a main course and a soda, then there's no problem. But if you think your money and time deserve better, you might prefer to go the Chinese restaurant just a 100 metres to the right (it says it's a karaoke bar!) where you can get a tasty meal, including soup, rice, a meat dish and a veg dish for about 20 Euros. And you'll be back in your room by the time you would have got your soup in the Hilton's restaurant!...
