5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Our family stayed here for 3 nights last week. Everything worked like a charm: all pre visit correspondence had been great, the rooms were as we had asked, breakfast buffet and executive lounge were fantastic, staff were charming and helpful in every area. The location is fantastic, kids loved the pool, the hotel itself is beautiful, plenty of wifi available in public areas and executive lounge. Loved this hotel.

After an early start from London ,we arrived at the Leningradskaya mid afternoon in desperate need of a rest and freshen up ,the Metro in Moscow is not the easiest to navigate if you dont speak/read Russian! we were informed on checking in that there had been a double booking and they were not able to accomodate us, before i was able to even think about complaining the extremely polite and friendly Receptionists reassured us that they had arranged for us to stay at the Marriot Grand Central for a night and that on our return the next morning we would have our room upgraded .Despite our initial disappointment , we had booked the Leningradskaya beacuse of its historical significance ,the move actually had some benfits! as our room at the Mariott looked out onto Tverskaya St and so we were able to watch the rehearsals for the May 9th parade.even for a lad who grew up in Belfast the sight of Tanks and other miltary hard ware rolling past your window is pretty exciting! The Leningradskaya is everything you want it to be ,huge and imposing from the outside ,grand and welcoming on the inside...I LOVED IT .the only slight irritation was that not all the staff seem to understand that they now work in a big mulitinational Hotel were the customer comes first...i dont expect to be scolded and then given dirty looks by waiting staff when i have used the wrong serving spoon at the buffet breakfast and then to be ignored when i asked the same member of staff for salt and pepper to be told to get it myself from the next table ,which was occupied ...minor grumble but when everything else is perfect things like this stick out !

The Hilton is everything you expect from this chain, first class staff and facilities, clean, tidy and well appointed rooms. The entrance foyer is worth a visit on its own. This impressive tower hotel is ideally located for the Metro and trips further away from the collection of mainline stations nearby. A short walk brings a host of shops and arcades into play. The staff are friendly and many speak English, a bonus for those who have yet to master the Russian language. The hotel also boasts restaurant and cafe style facilities. There is also a small souvenir shop with a chance to grab a good selection of last minute presents.
We visited in February when Moscow is still under its winter blanket of snow. Sensible waterproof footwear with good grip is essential as paths and pavements can be icy and slippery.
There are four lifts to all floors and some steps from the lift lobby to the foyer level, there is a steep ramp for suitcases / bags. However the staff are very helpful to the point of having the entrance door open for you on rainy days

Room Tip: .There are views all round the city, higher floors therefore giving the best views.

I lived in this hotel for a couple weeks between two mission in Russia. This hotel is based on one of the 7 candle of Moscow and has the tallest bronze chandelier of the world. This is one of the many attraction of Moscow to visit. The hotel is close to train station and metro station which make the city trip easier (especially if you can read Cyrillic).

The room are big and breakfast just great. The plus of this hotel is the staff at the breakfast, they were very smily and after some time, they recognised me and my table was always ready and quickly followed by my double expresso with milk (dvanoy expresso smalakom) and this without the need to ask.

We left the room at 10:30 am in the morning and came back at 4:45 pm and the rooms were not cleaned. This was not the case with just my room but with four other rooms....will not recommend this hotel just because of the housekeeping.

This hotel is impressive inside and out. Like something from Superman's Metropolis this building harks back to the Stalinist era and the scale and decor are breathtaking. The quality of the service is equally grand and is friendly and attentive. Some reviews have complained about external noise due to the hotel's location. I have to say the opposite. Our 4th floor junior suite was superbly sound insulated. In fact I would say that this is the quietest city centre hotel that I have ever stayed in and I spend my life in hotels. I have also read articles in Moscow City Guides suggesting that the seediness of the surrounding area has permeated into the hotel itself. Again I would take issue with this observation as there is nothing particularly seedy about the area around the hotel. in fact there's not much in the way of bars, restaurants or any other type of establishments within reasonable walking distance and this, if anything, is the only shortcoming of staying in this hotel but of course that is not the fault of Hilton. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Access to the Executive Lounge was a bonus and a very pleasant way to kick off the evening. The hotel corridors lack the opulence of the public areas and the restaurant is not quite on a scale to match the rest of the building but the service here and food quality is very good.
