The Savoy hotel is absolutely amazing. It's a smaller hotel in a beautiful, historic building and with fantastic service and amenities. It is, by far, the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.

The hotel is only 5 minutes walking to Red Square/Kremlin and also near the Lubyanka metro stop (just outside the former KGB building).

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Moscow.

The Savoy has a good location apart from the derelict building opposite and race track road between you and Red Square (choice between underpass and dodging 5 lanes).

Dining room has smelly goldfish fountain in the middle but a nice live pianist.

Nice helpful staff, pretty and ornate building, rooms clean other than stained rugs and mildew on bath seals.

Whole place seems unsure what it is trying to be - boutique or old school, business or leisure. It's not 3 Star but not 4 either. L'Occitane toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, free wifi but Cappuccino not included in breakfast, horrid dusty old blankets between sheets on bed, cheap bed full of springs, chairs and rugs all grubby, gym and breakfast only open at 7.

No sign of anyone trading from lobby bar this week.

If I wanted character and could get a room under £100 a night I would be happy. Otherwise the hyatt and ritz Carlton are nearby...

This hotel was beautiful but it's not a good place to stay if you do not speak Russian and/or you need Taxi/transportation around the city. There are no taxis available outside of the hotel and so you must use the hotel taxis which are outrageously overpriced and drive you around in circles to increase the fees. Not having control over transportation or the support of the hotel, because they want you to use their taxis, made this a very difficult place to stay. Additionally, I received no support from the Business Center when my box from DHL did not arrive.

Excellent location, friendly and helping staff at reception, beautiful rooms and restaurant for breakfast (good and rich food as well), so good to refresh at the swimming pool, householding is spoiling! Would love to come back again!

We had a standard room. The room itself was compact with a big bathroom. It was quiet and comfortable. It the bathroom we found two full sets of L'Occitane products, that included everything: a shaving sat, dental set, little manicure set, shampoo, body lotion etc. The hotel is in a very convenient location.
Breakfast was great. Because of time difference, we were waking up very early, and we were almost the only people to be there at 7 in the morning. So everything was fresh and in plenty.
