I only stayed one night at the hotel but have to say the service from the staff was wonderful and I felt looked after without it being intrusive.

The hotel is across the road from Red Square, but this is Moscow so it still takes a 5 minute walk to get there. I was stuck at the back of the hotel so disappointed that my view consisted of what appeared to be a college classroom gazing up at me rather than the sun rising over Red Square. But hey ho.

Food was delicious although rather expensive and atmosphere in the bar (which served meals) was relaxed and comfortable.

The hotel itself is very old and grand however my room (although not quite to my taste) was clean and very comfortable and the bathroom was modern.

Would I recommend it for a short stay? Definitely.

This is a lovely hotel located in the heart of Moscow.
My first night I stayed in one of the newer, larger standard rooms. It was very comfortable and spacious. After that I was upgraded to a room overlooking the Kremlin. Amazing view. Very quite rooms in both case - something I appreciate about older hotels.
The breakfast buffet is very tasty.
From the hotel, it's easy to get anywhere in town. I mostly use the metro, but you can walk to many sites and attractions if you're on vacation.
I'd recommend it if you're looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel in Moscow.

It is located right across the Kremlin, St Basil's Cathedral and Red Square. It is the only hotel opposite.... We were lucky to be there on the Victory Day... Where we could see the parade from Breakfast Room....
Great Experience...

This beautiful hotel is just steps from the Kremlin, St. Basil's & Red Square. The rooms are very nicely decorated & the majority of the staff very nice & the breakfast buffet good. We were there during an unfortunate heat wave & the air conditioning system is not well equipped for the heat. We were upgraded from a standard room on the first night to a superior room on the second, which was very nice, until we came in after a long hot day to a hot room. We called the desk, my husband went down to the desk & was ignored by the night manager (it was around 11pm & the room was probably about 80 degrees). My husband finally got the night manager & explained that the problem was the a/c vents in the room were closed (high ceilings & we couldnt reach the vents to open them) & if they would send someone to open the vents, it would cool off. The manager then came to the room, said the vents were not closed (they DEFINITELY WERE CLOSED!!!) & if we wanted, they would send someone to open the windows. Fine, open the windows. Problem with the open windows? The hotel faces the main street & the traffic & sirens go all night. No sleep. Called the manager who said we could change rooms, that there was one left. At 3 a.m. we change rooms to a TINY room in the way back of the hotel, but at least the a/c vents were open & the room was cool enough to sleep. The next day, upon speaking to the manager (NOT the night manager) whom was very apologetic, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. So, in the 4 nights we were there, we had 4 different rooms & this could have been avoided had the night manager not been surly & had just done as we asked. A hotel of this caliber should have sent the repairman to check the vents, even if just to humor us! But, other than the night manager, the staff at the hotel were very accommodating & helpful.

Room Tip: Try to face Red Square for a fabulous view!!

I stayed here for a few nights.

This is a great hotel. It overall quality is equal to other Luxury Collection Hotels. It's clean, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the rooms are nice, the spa is amazing and the food was great.

The best part of this hotel is it's location. You can walk to so much from your room. Red Square, Kremlin, Tverskaya, great restaurants, tons of shopping, public transit and more. It is a bit pricy.

Overall I was happy with my stay.

Located right accross from the Kremlin this is a beautiful hotel that exhudes Russian luxury style.
If younare lucky to get a room facing the Kremlin the view is beautiful. If you don't see it from your own room you can enjoy it from the restaurant where they serve a nice breakfast buffet. The wide luxurious stairs are inviting for taking them up and down which makes for good exercise and you can admire the nice stained glass on the windows.
The hotel is also conveniently located by Tsverskaya street where they have a lot of luxury stores and close to the subway which is the recommended way to travel around town is you want to get anywhere on time.
That being said...everythng from the coffee they serve in the coffee shop, to the airport limousine to the least expensive room you can get is insanely expensive!!!!!

National is located right in the heart of Moscow, just few steps from the red Squere. The staff were polite and friendly, the facilities like spa very good. The rooms are comfy, spacious and well equiped, however not extremly modern. Clenlines was also very good. The problem is, that all is overpriced for what you get. For example small bottle of mineral water taked from minibar cost 15 euro!!! For a simple cofee you must to pay up to 12 euro etc etc... Very bad experience with this.
