“Well located, boutique style Marriott”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Not you typical Marriott in terms of the public area's etc.as this is a relatively small hotel well located close to good bars and restaurants at the Belorusskaya end of Tverskaya St (Moscow's main street).

Reception staff were friendly and spoke good English

I was upgraded to a very spacious business class room which has a separate lounge and fridge/microwave. It faced the rear of the hotel and so was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable however the decor was fairly drab and a little chintsy compared with some of the more modern offerings in the city.

Breakfast buffet was good (expensive if not in room rate @ 1300rub) and room service was speedy and efficient.

Good gym with sauna

As mentioned it is very close to Belorusskaya train station with circle and green metro lines and airport express to Sheremetyeva airport. This area of Tverskaya has good restaurants (Torro Grill, Ragout etc in close proximity) and there are a couple of higher end supermarkets within 2 mins walk of the hotel.

I had a relaxing stay here and would definately consider staying again.

Room Tip: rear facing rooms are quieter

Nice rooms, good location if you ride the subway, no exec lounge. Room service quantity is quite small for the price ($20 for enough pasta to make me hungry). Some good swarma stands within walking distance, however. A tiny 24-hour store around the corner which is good for water and cokes at 2am. Restaurant for breakfast is unimpressive. They have an egg station but the attendant that makes the eggs is rarely there (running back to the kitchen and restocking the buffet usually). Twice I ordered but never got eggs before I finished eating, and the restaurant was almost empty. One day Grigoriy was making eggs. He would not make eye contact to take my order as much as I danced around in front of him. I finally said my order anyway and he seemed to ignore it except for a faint grunt. Maybe he speaks no English. Ten minutes later he still had not started the eggs and I gave up. The really tall guy (sorry cannot recall the name) making eggs does a good job if he is not too busy restocking the buffet to make them.

There is another Marriott a long walking distance down Tverskaya with an exec lounge and better breakfast, but its farther from the subway. Will stay there again, but mainly for the location near the subway.

Great location, right off Belorusskaya metro station and Sheremetevo express train. Beautiful rooms, spacious and clean, but nothing to impress me much with. A business center on the first floor, nice restaurant, free wi-fi in the lobby, the bar and in the business center itself; internet is otherwise charged in the privacy of your room. So -you might ask- what is wrong with this hotel that makes you experience pretty avarage? There is everything you would not expect in a luxury hotel. Breakfast is outrageously expensive (€30 per person) for a very lame buffet, so make sure it is included in your room price. And, for a room price in the range of €500 per night, I would expect that the maid made sure that there is sufficient toilet paper in the bathroom, that the orchids in the room are not left to wither in some stale water; I would expect it to be less decadent, with a typical russian attitude of not paying attention to details. I would expect that the check-in agent refrains from explaining all the vast array of possibilities for which a credit card swiped in advance to cover extra charges does not go thru. The adamant attitude of enumerating all the possibile causes (from maxing out on your allowance from overspending to whatever else) belongs more to a bank employee than to a 5 star luxury hotel. We all know that credit cards can get stuck; what they should learn is that a business traveller in suit and tie is most probably able to flash at least 6 other types of credit cards from his wallet. The whole experience was not bad, however distasful at times as the hotel fell short of my expectations in many ways.

Fine hotel in the range of the 'better' hotels. Somewhat classic style.
Fine service, good breakfast. Room is well equipped, good bed. Std room, showering in bath (is not great), good beds and internet connection.
Ordered room service which quality was good.
Climate control in room is fine; good tv system. Very busy and noisy road in front of building, but isolation rooms/windows is excellent creating good calm climate in room.
I had a room close to the elevator. The noise/ring from this when people arriving on the same floor is well heard and disturbing in the room, especially when happening late at night and sleeping.

Hotel location is perfect for those coming from Sheremetyevo - it is only meters away from Belorusskaya train station, where Sheremetyevo Express would bring you in 35 minutes, allowing bypassing upsetting traffic jams.
Standard hotel rooms are extremely small (feels like London!), but if you manage to get an upgrade, then completely different situation. I wish the towels would have been fresher - feels like they have been in use for ages, well worn out.
Excellent breakfast. Though no freshly squeezed juices, wide selection of fishes (including various types of smoked samlon and... steamed salmon!!!) makes it an enjoyable one.

Hotel is located on the main Moscow street. Big advantage is a proximity (next door) to Belorusskaya metro station. From there you may go to any point in Moscow much faster than in any car. Service is pleasant and rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is good, but some other Moscow hotels have it better. Be aware that smoking is still permited in public areas (lobby, bar), and locals take a full advantage of this.
