Novotel Moscow Centre
Ranked #52 of 327 Hotels in Moscow
Reviewed February 26, 2013

If you're looking for a no frills but a reasonably priced hotel in Moscow then I'd recommend you give this property a try.

I found the front desk staff friendly and very helpful when I wanted a restaurant reservation made. The room was a good size and bed comfortable.

I'd certainly stay here again.

Ok hotel for business but nothing extra. Safe and good location with two subway stations around the corner and several nice restaurants in the area.
Boring interior and they could work on a better feeling to the bar area and restaurant. I was unlucky to stay during remodeling of the floor with the gym which I wanted to use but I accept that hotels need remodeling now and then.

As can be seen from the pictures, this is a very basic hotel with no real desire to take on the opulence and expense of Moscow's other business hotels. I had a positive experience at a clean, comfortable hotel. The rooms are very simple, yet spacious and clean.

Free wi-fi is a nice addition. The location is excellent if one is familar with Moscow or one does not have to be beside red square to feel centally located. It is 2 stops on the metro to the centre of the city and that metro is located just outside the door of the hotel! For those who are using the new business centre at Belarusskaya (White Square), the hotel is a 10-15 minute walk away and hence, very convenient. Given Moscow's traffic, visitors should use the metro as an alternative to a taxi.

Amenities at the hotel are thin on the ground. An aged gym of sorts is on the top floor. The bar is soulless and functional and I did not eat there, so cannot comment on the food. The bathroom towels are not particularly nice and a little bit like the towels you get in some of the Russian regional hotels. Thin and dishevelled. I don't mind this, but I know some people would. So, why don't they just replace them?! This kind of stuff still confuses me about Russian hotels.

I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a functional, clean hotel with a central location and did not want to get ripped off at some of the other Moscow hotels.

Room Tip: Demand a non-smoking room. There are no rooms with a view here but the hotel is off the main road an...

The Renaissance is where I'd normally be put up in Moscow but with that one being full, the Novotel was the next best option primarily in terms of distance/commute from my office.
The hotel is located across from a Metro and has a few pubs and restaurants within walking distance.Check-in and check-out was atrociously long - not just for me but for the few people ahead of me in the line. The room itself was fairly spacious. Internet quality was very good. As far as Russian hotels go, this one has one of the better breakfast buffets. For some reason, the hot water faucet is to the right side. The design of the bathroom could be improved. The commode is positioned quite oddly. If you are overweight or slightly fat (luckily I'm on the skinny side...) I'm hardpressed to imagine how you'd be using this....

I came to Novotel for a business trip Stayed in this hotel 3 nights, as silver member of Accord.

I found:
Room standard, old cheap furniture, clean towels, bad pillow.
Carpet not clean.
Staff ok. Good breakfast.

Service policy unbelievable (again!):
You got a free bottle of water when you arrive, but do not imagine that you can drink water everyday for free!

Starting the second day no more free water. I called the reception and they propose you no way except purchasing an Evian water from the bar or to go outside to the next supermarket!!

What is this service for a 200+$ international hotel??
