We went to Yornik twice in the same week, as we really enjoyed our experience. It is a rather small but cozy place with very attentive and consistently good service. The food is excellent, creative (try the Yo-Borsch), but a bit pricey. We were less convinced with respect to the desserts, though. They have a good wine list, with decent bottles starting around RUB 2400.

Have been here on several occasions. The food is probably one of the best in town. A bit on the pricy side though.
Loved it when once I was told that the tuna tartare (which is delicious) is temporarily replaced by swordfish tartare because there wasn't enough good tuna in Moscow at the moment. Don't think many otherplaces places put similar emphasis on quality of ingredients

On first appearances the restaurant is an extremely high class joint although gives an impression of a quality cafe. Still it looks great and the surroundings were of the utmost quality. the waiting staff were good and as efficient as they could be bearing in mind the single biggest failing - the kitchen.
We ordered and there was no indication of the likely delay but soon we noticed that everyone at their tables seemed to be waiting. Ours was a simple starter and main course for the three of us. After 30 minutes we sensed that something was wrong - we were still waiting, no bread was brought or attempt o explain what was happening. I don't normally clock watch but realised we had been in the place for 45 minutes and so we asked. The explanation was that the kitchen was busy as everyone had arrived at the same time. This was not the facts. What was more aggravating was noticing the head chef spent more time coming into the restaurant to see the patrons and lounging at the bar. He might be a celebratory chef working for celebratory owners but this place will not survive. People were now cancelling their meals and we too were just about to as the tarter arrived - salad. How long should you wait for salad!!!!
the main courses took another 30 minutes and apparently were just being decorated.
Even the quality of the food was Ok but nothing special. We will never return and suggest that if you visit you ask how long the food will be.

Pricey without the goods to back it up. The tenderloin I've had a couple of times (dunno why) suffered from a certain lack of structure, might have been prepared with one of them machines (you can get only medium no matter how raw you're begging for) so don't go for the steak.

You can find some traditional russian dishes in the vision of chef from London.
