This hostel was great, clean, welcoming and the girls on reception were so helpful! They gave me and my two friends advice on restaurants to visit, how to get to the metro and places of interest to visit. Due to the lack of English spoke in Moscow, this help was invaluable!

If you are visiting Moscow Hostel Dom is a warm welcoming and great value place to stay in an expensive city. In the reception area there is a variety of guide books on Moscow and Russian history which are great to read over breakfast. Word of advice, if you need to shower....get in the bathroom early as once the tank runs out of hot water then the only temperature available is..cold.

Recently spent two nights in Moscow on my own dime ahead of a business trip and wanted something relatively inexpensive but centrally located. This can be a challenge in Moscow, and having lived there a few years ago for several months, I was aware that prices for centrally-located hotels are often astronomical. Based on the strength of TripAdvisor reviews, I booked a separate room at Hostel Dom, and certainly wasn't disappointed.

The hostel itself is spotlessly clean, with a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere inside. Free breakfast (bread, jams, cereal) is provided, the bedding was more than sufficient, and unlike many other hostels I've stayed in, I had no problems with either the water pressure or temperature in the showers. Staff are friendly, if not overly exuberant, although since I speak Russian and know Moscow pretty well, I didn't have to interact with them in English or ask about where to go/what to do/etc.

I'd say the hostel's biggest selling point, though, is its location. It's five minutes away from a metro station (Kurskaya, which conveniently provides access to three metro lines, including the dark blue and circle lines, which means getting here from any of Moscow's three airports is much more convenient), and just a few steps from a busy street with a shopping mall. A word of caution for English-speaking guests - it's hard to find this hostel with the directions they provide, as it's set back quite a bit from the street, and the English-language directions weren't very helpful (the Russian directions, on the other hand, got me there right away). But even if it means that it takes you a little longer to actually get there, the frustration is well worth it, and the seclusion from the road is actually a good thing, considering how busy, loud, and polluted Moscow's main streets are. If you're arriving on foot from the metro, consider arriving during daylight hours - the small street that leads past yards and parking lots to the hostel isn't well lit.

Overall, a very clean, efficient hostel in a great location at a decent price - can't ask for much more than that.

The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The small size of this hostel gives it a familiar atmosphere. Although it is conveniently located close to a major metro station and at the same time very quiet, I found hard to find the way to the hostel in the dark, since you have to take a few turns in some narrow passages. At daytime, on the other hand, it is easy to find. Thus, try to arrive there before sunset.

Hostel Dom is not what I expected with funky individual rooms, light airy and really helpful staff.
Excellent welcome from the ladies on reception and they were happy to answer all of questions from our taxi driver as it is a little tricky to find by road. Walking directions from the Hostel are superb, just look for the dotty wall! Once you've found your bearings the hostel is a 5 min walk through the subway to the metro (kurskaya) and then only 1 stop to Red Square and the main sights (Ploschad Revolyutsii). You'll need to have a working knowledge of the Russian alphabet as there are no translations on the metro name a underneath, but its pretty eay to navigate.

Hostel Dom provided breakfast included in the price which was an added bonus as was the fresh bread from the bread machine every morning, with enough tea & coffee to keep everyone happy. Open kitchen facilities were there to use, along with a dish washer for crockery. The communal areas are small and cosy with free fast wifi in the rooms easily accessible. The shared bathrooms are clean, tidy and unisex; there is the potential for more toilets. For a small hostel this had a great warm & friendly atmosphere and I'd definitely stay there again.

The hostel is situated near the metro station, a trading centre and the central part of Moscow. It offers a really fair level of service for the price paid. The personnel is aimable and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone not needed in a 5-star pathos, but wanting cleanness and comfort!
