Was searching online for some dinner during a 2-week trip to Moscow and was excited that the #6 restaurant on TripAdvisor was in our neighborhood. A short walk away from the Prospekt Mira metro stop, the entrance is pretty unassuming, but once you go indoors, this place will wow you. The decor, shabby chic and bohemian, makes you feel cozy and warm. Windows on the first floor are wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling, providing amazing views of the Botanical Garden next door. The ambiance is further enhanced by the live pianist who comes on around 8pm, playing light jazz and well-known covers.

Too bad the food is only OK. We started with a grapefruit salad that was essentially a pile of rocket lettuce with 4 grapefruit slices and two unsliced avocado halves. Try a little harder, Galife. The soup was good enough—I had a seafood broth and my colleague the borscht. Both were rich enough, but were missing the umami punch to make us go "mmm."

For mains, we ordered the veal and potatoes on the recommendation of the chef, and some kind of pork tenderloin. The veal was fairly dry but the potatoes were perfect. The pork tenderloin was pretty overcooked and would have led to an evening of cottonmouth if not accompanied by sliced grapes and pear, which mitigated the dryness just enough to make it palatable.

Service was all-around good, and the English-mumbling waiter was at least efficient and could intuit what we wanted. We paid about $85 for a dinner for two that included a glass of wine each, two starters, a shared salad, and two mains. Fairly reasonable.

Overall, we enjoyed our time here. The ambiance was fantastic and was enough to make me put down a reservation for a team dinner, which will be more fueled by alcohol consumption than by the quality of the food, anyways. But I won't be ordering any meat dishes again.

Very cosy off pr-t Mira, full of locals. Good ambiance inside, one feels one is in a country rural restaurant. Very large menu. Every dish good to excellent. Service good. Shabby chic. Good value. No complaints.

Madam Galife's was chosen as a "Farewell" dinner site for our group. I went on others' recommendations and was thrilled with both the food and service.

The restaurant backs-up to Moscow's botanical gardens. So, if you are fortunate enough to be seated upstairs, you have a spectacular backdrop of gardens in the warm months and a winter wonderland in the colder months.

The live piano player was spectacular. He played light jazz for hours and was superb. I put a nice tip in his shirt pocket (there was no jar) because the music added to much to my enjoyment of the evening.

We had several different starters, breads, and salads followed by grilled meat trays. One person in our group needs a gluten free diet and there was plenty she could choose from. The food was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. I don't drink alcohol, but the others were quite pleased with the Georgian wine.

The restaurant is close to the Prospect Mira metro stop and truly a lovely place to have a nice dinner. Be sure to look carefully at the framed tea towels on the way in!

Good Georgian food, nice terrace(in summer season), better to reserve table because place is very popular and not so big. Two steps from metro station
