Great gallery with exceptional paintings, particularly for those who love the Impressionists and Picasso.
Staff not really friendly and helpful if you are non-Russian tourist. When we asked for plan of the gallery in English language we were told we can get Chinese one if we don't like Russian one.

The old sculptures are copies. But it gives you the possibility to see almost all sculptures of Michelangelo in one hall!
An excellent collection of impressionists (especially Paul Gauguin), iconic van Gogh and Picasso...
And very rare thing in Moscow - good espresso in museum's cafe

Of course I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and was expecting to see a nice selection of quality impressionist paintings. But this museum far exceeded my expectations! Almost all the great impressionists are represented, Gauguin and Cezanne even a room of their own.
I spent two leisurely hours here. Not very busy in the museum so it was easy to take your time and see everything properly.
Also very easy to find from Kropotkinskaya metro station (just a few minutes walk, opposite the green building which is virtually next to the huge, golden dombed church.).
If you like impressionist paintings, do not miss this museum! It could well be the highlight of your visit to Moscow.

What a treasure. Unbelievable this art exhibition. A collection of all the great European and American Artists in one Gallery. Not many people there so enough time to enjoy all the paintings. Reasonable price for entrance. Love this place.

This gallery is right next to the main Pushkin museum and easily accessible by public transport. You can see the entire place in less than 3 hours. The place is usually not so crowded because tourists usually go for the main building. Here you will find some works by Monet, Picasso, Renoir and Goya. It is quite impressive . The gallery itself is quite compact, which means that that are only three floors, with small rooms which can all be seen easily without information overload. Do not miss this gallery. It is a must-see. You'll be amazed at how beautiful it is .
