We spent 3 nights there, and yes, it's central, and for the gays among you: on a very busy cruising park, but actually we spent a lot of our time in the northwest of the city, which is prime restaurant, shops and bars ground, so I wouldn't have mind to stay less central - anyway, for the red square and the kremlin, this is the best situated 3 star hotel of the city i think

Just came back from Moscow. The hotel is really convenient beside the metro and just a few blocks away from red square. The staff is really helpful and efficient.
The hotel is not fancy, pretty basic but its all you need if your just going to go to spend the night. Good value for your money, (taking into account that your in Moscow which is really expensive).

The location is excellent, close to the Metro and within a comfortable walking distance to Red Square and other places of interest. Across the road is a very nice park.
Our room was a double at the front of the hotel overlooking the park.
Our room had an air conditioner, although friends we were travelling with didn't have this luxury so found the room a little stuffy with the window shut. The traffic requires that the window was kept shut all night.
The room, linen and bathroom were all spotlessly clean.
Close to the hotel were several eateries and a supermarket.
Breakfast was quite good with plenty for everyone. During the day there is tea and coffee making facilities in the breakfast room as well as a machine which makes good hot chocolate and capuccino.
The staff at the reception desk speak good English.
On the down side there are quite a number of steps to negotiate with suitcases and for some this could be a problem.
Also, although the bed was comfortable, there were parts of the mattress where the springs could be felt.
Free wifi was available in the room.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room with AC if travelling in the warmer months. The front rooms are nice but you d...

Next to Kitay Gorod metro station, and about 15-20min walk to bolshoi / red square. Breakfest was ok but took a while to replace what was finished. Overall pretty good value considering Moscow hotel prices

Hours of research confirmed what all the guidebooks told me: budget hotel options are scarce in Moscow. The trade-off between value and location is generally grim. Yet so long as there is a Kitay-Gorod Hotel, travelers and tourists will have at least one sub-$500 option withing a short walking distance of Red Square.
Conveniently located right at the entrance to the Kitay-Gorod subway station, the hotel is easy to get to (but a little hard to find). It is small, but clean and well-organized. There are few amenities, but hot showers, warm beds and Russian television is just about all you need after a long day of wandering Moscow.
Breakfast is provided, which is convenient, but sacrifices quality and uniqueness for efficiency and abundance.

This hotel is small but really well located, only 10-15 minute walk to the main sights and right beside a metro stop. The staff were pleasant and happy to help. Rooms basic but gas everything you needed my bed was a little uncomfortable but I could live with it.

The hotel could benefit from a bigger sign outside, taxis found it difficult to locate.

Overall a god stay and I'd recommend this place to friends.

A small hotel in an excellent location, just 10 minutes walk from Red Square. Friendly and efficient staff. Rooms were clean and pleasant, with a nice bathroom and good towels and sheets . No noise from the street and warm and cosy. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Good value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms to the south are quieter.
