For those that know Moscow, is no surprise that service is not good, except in a few selected places in city center... but Strelka Bar takes the low service to the extrem!
I have been there a few months ago in the winter time, and returned twice in the last month following friends requests , and had the opportunity to confirm my worst expectations:
Visit 1: we were told at arrival that all tables were reserved (is typical in Moscow to place reserved table signs even when 80 %of the restaurant is empty, this is part of the "face and drinking control" process) .. after few minutes discussion we were directed to the table... and waited more than 30 minutes without any contact from the staff. After so long without being attended or asked even what to drink we decided to leave the place and moved to a close by alternative
Visit 2: Arrived earlier for dinner at 7pm on a Friday - tried to book a table by phone the day before, but they do not do it, even claimed was easy to get a table if I waited 5-10 minutes next day - we were told different instructions from 30 min to 90 minutes waiting time ... we left our mobile numbers and departed to another restaurant (located 50 meters away and enjoying the same great view over the river into the cathedral) ... and glad we did it as we receive a phone call saying our table was ready at 11pm , 4 hours later!!!!
So if you are thinking about having dinner, forget Strelka, is a great location and view but you can have exactly the same with food and much better service in all other places around...
