We dined with our friends in this classy-looking restaurant and were disappointed. The waiter quite shamelessly kept for himself approximately 12 cl from the first bottle of red wine we ordered. From the second bottle we were offered only once, approximately 6-8 cl for each 4 customers. This makes 24-32 cl from a bottle of 75 cl. The rest the fellow obviously kept for himself. The bottle and the waiter disappeared until it was time for dessert.
When it came time for the bill, the waiter came to us and told us that we are expected to tip them 10 percent of the bill. As we have stayed in Russia already for some years, we knew it was not so. (You are expected to give tips, it is not a must. Also from a small bill you give 10 percent and from a big one only 5 percent.) Not wanting to embarrass our guests my husband said nothing. We did complain the next day, though.
Not very happy, although the food was relatively good.
