“A glittering heaven”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

Salut was magnificent when we first looked at it on our arrival. Our flight was delayed and we arrived here to see us greeted by a glittering , magnificent structure that towered above us all and seemed to touch the sky. For a 3 star hotel , the décor was amazing. The interiors were classy and chic and done well. The staff was very nice, polite and courteous and tended to us well. The interior was quite spacious because the hotel, is indeed, quite big. The check in process did take some time though but the check out was quick and hassle free which was a good thing because we had a flight to catch. The room we stayed in was clean and nice. It was simple yet elegant and had all the modern facilities like a TV etc. The Wi-Fi was also provided by the hotel but the speed was not that good. The bathroom was clean and had all the toiletries there. I really liked the soap that was provided and the shampoo. I even asked one of the staff about it. They also have a well stocked bar which, however, can get crowded in the evenings. The breakfast provided was plentiful and nice. We had a great time here.

We stayed in a business class double room. The room was quite spacious. There was a king bed with very nice linin, a table and a cupboard for your clothes. We had two large bags and hand luggage and the room never felt cramped. Reception were very helpful and most of them spoke good English.
The location is about a 20 min walk to the metro station. There are many shops near the metro station. There is a shuttle from the hotel that will take you to the metro. There are many supermarkets all a short walk away from the hotel to get supplies. There is a park near by and lots of pedestrian walk ways.
Other than this there is not much near by. All tourist things are quite far way.
Breakfast is very good, there are many options and you should find something you like. It also changes every day. There are a few restaurants in the hotel. The Italian one was good, however not opened everyday. I found the service at the main restaurant to be awful. Don’t go there if you are hungry as it takes for ever to get your food. There is not much to near the hotel. Pretty much everyone we encountered in all the restaurants didn’t speak English which made it very hard to order and understand what the options were.
The wifi and good and very quick in the morning and during the day but didn’t work or was very slow in the night, it was impossible to use it most nights.
My biggest problem with the hotel is housekeeping, it was very inconsistent. Somedays the room would only get cleaned at 4 in the afternoon, cups didn’t get washed, the beds weren’t made neatly, they didn’t leave toilet paper or water. In general the standard of housekeeping was not up to scratch.
Overall it was an okay stay however I didn’t leave there feeling I had a good experience.

The hotel constructed still in Soviet period, kept standard design of the building with high ceilings, huge halls and the corridors, sometimes reminding a labyrinth – in my opinion, it is possible to add additional navigation for the best orientation on hotel. Though, the huge territory it is rather plus of this hotel. Day by day it is possible to watch a small group of the foreign guests walking on hotel’s territory, looking in show-windows of souvenir booths. If you planned to work a little there is a free wireless Internet access in the hotel. Rooms are fine. Nothing special – standard rooms for a city hotel. As a whole there was an impression as if you are in a small town with the infrastructure: restaurants, in bars, beauty shops, but with the features.

I have been in this hotel for 3 nights in September. This is a huge building and too busy with group of people coming and going. It will take a while to talk to the reception. Payment is upfront. Rooms are basic, but comfortable. Breakfast is good. You can have small shopping inside the hotel building, the shops are just like they are on the streets, too small with lot of things.

Stayed at this hotel twice in October.

First time very happy. English of the receptionists was not great but I had a Russian colleague to help me out. Checkin took a while and you pay for your accodation upfront. Nothing gets added to your room - you simply ay as you go.

Room was basic not very modern but comfortable. Bed was large - pillows good - and it was clean. Bathroom showing its age but was clean and well maintained. Good bath and nice shower - lots of toiletries - sponges, combs, toothbrush kit etc. You get two bottles of water, a kettle and two cups but no coffee or tea. That was strange. TV's are old cabinet style was good to see one again havent seen one since I was a kid!

First time I was here I was in a room at the back of the hotel. Queit and comfortable. Loved it.

You cant have visitors to your room as you have to walk past security they will only let people that have a key card pass them. I had a colleague with me who was refused entry so we had to do a conf call in the cafe. Not ideal.

Breakfast was superb. One of the best I have had.

Checkout is easy - as you have paid just leave your key and go.

Second time I was here, a few days later was at the front of the hotel - noisy - lots of traffic noise - Moscow does not move and I could here giggles and loud chat from next door till 3am.

Went for breakfast and could not get a seat - the place was packed. Large tables so you are meant to share with people but still - wow! Had a coffee at the cafe instead. Managed to time the breakfast run perfectly the next few times and was good - but still busy (at 9am).

Plenty of places to eat. Went to the chinese downstairs and it was fantastic. Some of the best food I have had. However be warned they dont take credit cards! There is a cash point in the lobby!

All in all really good stay - excellent value for Money and for where our office is based in Moscow really great location.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the hotel away from the main highway!

This was the only hotel which accepted us and there were free rooms (because there are 1091 rooms!!). Thank you very much. We visited almost all hotels for 4 hours and everywhere there was a refusal. All employees who I met - were pleasant and kind. Very good level of room service, cleaning was magnificent and pleasant. Very various and tasty food on breakfast! Security service - vigilant and correct. Nice Free Wi-Fi. So everything is pleasant to me! All very attentive and valid!

The hotel is very big, it's more like a town, the wifi connection was very fast. Fast check In & check out. Breakfast was ok but not very satisfactory. The room and bathroom were clean. It may be good for short business trips like I did but not good for long stays.
