“Fairly good”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Stopped by on the way to a theater: nice place, average service. Pizza was really good (one with tuffle oil). Despite there were two different sizes (diametrs) in the menue and we were expecting a circle form, our pizza turned to be... elips. Coffee was ok as well as a dessert.

Hate Moscow's restaurants habit to overcharge for water - $5 for 0.25L (literary - a glass).

Dispite that we had table in "non-smoking" area, we did feel some "nice" smoke smell - common thing for Moscow restaurants.

“Good ambience”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

The restaurant is located near the bottom of Tverskaya St. We enjoyed a meal here this week with a bottle of wine. There was a group of three musicians playing really nice music (two acoustic guitars and a bass) which made for a really pleasant evening. The wine cost more than the food, but that's not unusual in Moscow. We had pizza which was nice but the tiramasu for dessert was amazing - one of the best we've ever had - and the service was excellent.

Great italian just 3 minutes from Red squre. Reasonable prices. Amex friednly (you'll face problems with amex cards in Moscow). Salmon ravioli are amazing.

“Great, reasonably priced option near Red Square”
Reviewed November 9, 2010

There are various restaurant offerings within walking distance of Red Square, but not too many are great choices. These include McDonalds, Sbarro and other vile American chains, along with overpriced cafes and a few pretentious restaurants catering to the Muscovite rich who flaunt their wealth at Prada and Gucci (and of course Gum on Red Sq itself).

Given this, Sorriso came as a very pleasant surprise to my Russian wife and I. The food is very good (not outstanding, but definitely a lot better than average), the service pretty friendly, and the prices very reasonable for the center of this expensive city. We ate a delicious mushroom and truffle cream soup, friend potatoes with garlic, and a truffle risotto. Add in a couple of drinks and some end-of-lunch tea, and the bill was around US$55... not at all bad for the location and the quality of food.
