“NOT BEST BUT OK”

if you are on business or short trip around moskov , you can just keep this hotel in your mind to stay.Seem a bit pricy because of the location and a bit noisy.Wifi is not that expected.Staff is ok but not good in english.A young guy was trying to joke with an poor language but not disrespectful.Minibar is also expensive , can find 3 times cheaper outside.

As a general hotel is OK, location is close to the metro stations and also close to the Red Square by taxi.
Rooms are comfortable and clean, not so well decorated but enough for business travelers.
Surprisingly one guy from the reception can speak English very well, but mostly staff couldn't speak in English..

Room Tip: Nothing special..

Hotel is OK. Could not get air conditioning on as the remote was missing and it took staff far too long to resolve this in sweltering heat. Breakfast was slightly farcical as no-one could speak English, despite being told at booking time that English was spoken. This meant I was asked to write what we wanted on a serviette so that it could be taken off for translation. Building works in the hotel meant that thudding of large hammers could be heard all through the meal. Quality of food was poor and much of it looked like last nights leftovers. I would not return and am leaving average review as the offer price on line was very good. In summary: location OKish, room OK, food OK, price OK

It may not be in the center of Moscow, but the Mandarin Hotel is a 10 minute walk from a subway train that takes you to the Red Square after 5 stops. The hotel appears cozy with a comfortable lobby/salon. Rooms are rather dark and small, but they have essential amenities. Food was ok but service at the restaurant was poor (little respect for the guest and his/her requests). The hotel is expensive for what is proposed. But which hotel is affordable in Moscow!?

Hotels in Moscow are poor value for the money in general. But this one was truly awful. It looks like a posh hotel from pictures posted, but it is actually a smoke infested converted Days Inn.

There is one staff person to cover everything - concierge, door, check-in...and for someone with a helpful attitude that would be a challenge. But add classic Soviet service attitude, good luck getting anything done. My reserved in advance "non-smoking" room was ooozing fumes, the walls were literally grey. I refused it and was told there was nothing else. I refused to leave the lobby until I was finally changed to a real non-smoking room. This is the only reason why I gave a 2 instead of 1.

One elevator for entire hotel. Expect to wait. Got food poisoning from the restaurant. Uninspiring neighbourhood.

On the other hand if you are a hermit chain smoker you may enjoy this hotel.
