I had exceptionally low expectations of this hotel, but was pleasantly surprised. We arrived after a night train from Moscow, and the hotel gladly accommodated our 5am check-in.
My room was clean, and in good condition. There was complimentary bottled water, and all of the usual amenities (hair dryer, soap, towels). The bedding was fine and the bed quite comfortable. I was able to open the window and enjoy a breeze, but was a little annoyed by the adjacent garbage fire that smoked into the room a bit.
Breakfast at the hotel wasn't particularly good. The bacon and eggs served were decent, but otherwise the options were pretty awful. Similarly, at dinner the food was edible, but only barely. Unfortunately the sanctions seem to have really limited the availability of decent international options (like cheese, for example).
I would stay here again if visiting Kursk.More
