The room my partner and I are staying at is one of the most expensive ones in the hotel at 7400 rubles per night. The overall look (design) of the hotel and our room is pleasant. Although, I have to say the air conditioner is so dusty I'm scared to die of anaphylactic shock if I turn it on. There is no option to turn the central heating off. The door has two locks - magnetic with a card that according to many visitors reviews works only half of the time (mine got demagnetised 2 days in) and an actual lock, that does not work in our room due to poorly installed door fittings. The shower is leaking and does not drain properly, so you end up in a pool of water within 3 minutes. Looks are extremely deceiving. The staff are a bit funny with how they treat us. We are in a room that costs us a whooping 100 euros per night (it is a lot for this town - our four day stay costs us an equivalent of the reception girls' monthly salary) yet we have received dirty looks from members of staff for the first couple of days. The security guard is very classic for a Russian hotel - its a lot of him around but no actual use. You can see him on the phone in the lobby, or even following you around while you are trying to get some privacy for a business call. Service is in shambles. The best part is that we had a visitor in the morning, who opened the door with a master key despite the "privacy" sign on. Normally I would lock the door as both of us are late sleepers, but that option was unavailable and I had no intention to complain about the lock and poor door fixtures. So we were both in bed, the member of staff who walked into the room decided to have a little chat with my partner disputing whether the "privacy" is on or off (you have a little display instead of classic paper signs). After he was politely told to leave several times, he has finally left. The "sorry" we got was an average tasting cheesecake (don't get me started on the food quality, although it is much better than anywhere else in town). The story does not end here. As my partner and I are a walking honeymoon, the night before the incident we decided to have loads of wine, food and so on. We started at the restaurant/lobby bar (they are more or less the same place) and then moved to our room ordering room service. A few drops of wine got spilled on the white bedding, which was told could cost us about 2000 rubles. I do not know if the manager is nuts or not, but after one of her staff walked into guest's room like he did, I would not make a big fuzz over spilled wine. Even a bottle of, as every housewife knows how to get this kind of stain out, so the housekeeping should too. We got two more nights to stay in this hotel, so let's hope the attitude changes before we leave:)
