I was supposed to do the night tour of the forest but couldn't due to a flight delay. Alex from the Hoia-Baciu project was very flexible and accommodating, so the next day we went to both the forest and the salt mine. Both were so interesting and beautiful in very different ways and Alex has lots of stories to tell about the forest which makes it come alive! I would highly recommend this and can't wait to come back to visit the forest at night!
Hoia Baciu project is run by Alex, a local guide that knows everything about the forest, both the myths and the reality. He is very talkative and makes you feel comfortable. It's well worth contacting him.
We chose the day tour. Alex, our guide, was very knowledgeable on both the facts and urban legends surrounding the mysterious forest. A great, fun experience!
I've heard about the Hoia Baciu forest and found the Hoia Baciu project online. When I've booked a day photo tour through the booking system, the respond came really fast. Alex was my tour guide and told me lot's of interesting facts about the forest and it's history. He brought me to all the interesting trees and spots of the forest. It was really great! I would definitely do it again, but next time I want to try the night tour.
Visiting the Hoia Baciu forest was an amazing and interesting experience, the forest has a very strong power and energetic fields which make the visitor feel absolutely great freedom and relaxation. There is also a certain mystery surrounding the whole forest... The people from the Hoia Baciu project are great, very friendly and interesting personalities, with full love n respect for the forest and with a big knowledge of the forest. They definitively love the forest and what they are doing and they are the best guides someone can find. They told us a lot of amazing stories with plenty of material a great food for thought and we mad a promise to return soon. The place is fantastic and one of a kind.
