This was at the end of a 5 week trip. We were leaving Maramures and beginning to wind our way back to Bucharest. Our stay in Maramures had been really wonderful with small village life the main pleasure. We chose Hotel Beyfin which is totally the opposite of where we had been for the past few days. A big city hotel...but a really great one. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and helpful, (even suggesting our driving route to Sibiu the day we left). Our room was large and had a beautiful view of the square below. Though it is located on a busy...very busy street, once you are inside of the hotel you would not know it. It is very quiet. Breakfast was nicely presented and there was a good variety of foods available. Parking was a little tricky. When we arrived at the front of the hotel, there was no place to pull up to unload our bags. So we drove down the street, parked and walked back. Once we were registered, we were given a map with clearly marked directions on one way streets to get back to the hotel parking garage just behind the hotel. It worked fine. It was freezing cold and the upstairs dining terrace was closed, but all in all we were very happy with our choice of Hotel Beyfin. A very nice hotel!

Room Tip: The rooms on the front of the hotel have a lovely view of Piata Avram Iancu and you do not hear the...

We stayed here as a large group of family and friends -- for my brother's wedding. The staff were very helpful, and in one instance helped us to carry out a stag prank where we dressed up one of our group as a woman (he is a man); he sat in the lobby pretending to be an escort we had hired for the groom. The receptionists were very game -- they called him to tell him 'a woman' was waiting for him!

The breakfast was nice and the terrace a good spot for drinks -- though service could be surly. We liked our room, and the views out over the city.

Room Tip: We would recommend however getting one of the rooms at the 'front' of the hotel (the deluxe...

To find the Hotel driving a car, using a primitive navigation system, which didn't know about one ways and street numbers, it's a real expedition. The booked hotel garage was out of service, because a construction yard in the street (no advice before my arrival). The hotel in itself was OK, even if only the roof restaurant was open with very few menu items, and not the Italian one with a larger menu card. So, eating out er house is needed, but, unfortunately, the first restaurant is at, more or less, one km.

We made a nostalgic return to the city of Cluj in Romania. Found this hotel and was truly an excellent hotel in a very good location. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We stayed in one of the suites and it was large and comfortable and clean. An added bonus was the Nespresso type coffee machine which came in handy. The only slight negative was the shower which was a hand held type. Otherwise good value.

I really wanted to stay longer because I liked this hotel. Cluj Napoca was definitely not my favorite place in Romania but the hotel made up for it. Staff was friendly too. It was just a block or two from the main squares and restaurants.

Room Tip: I believe the rooms are the same. Definitely were not noisy even those facing the main street

Learned about this place for some time and decided to go for it during my recent visit in Cluj. I had the chance to check in twice and so i stayed in 2 rooms. The price is decent 37-54 euro/night, breakfast and wireless included. Good breakfast , they have an amazing restaurant on the roof floor with some amazing view. Very romantic. The location is one of the best you can get, your are meters away from the Opera, local court, Orthodox Cathedral , Eroilor street , 5 minutes walking from Mihai Viteazu square or Unirii square. Most of the clubs/pubs/restaurants/main attractions in walking distance .
The rooms are comfortable, great view, noiseproof windows, good air-condition functional, the staff helpful and polite. It is not a RITZ but certainly should be considered as one of the best value/convenient hotel in Cluj! Highly recommended!
