When you are interested in history, you have to visit the birthplace of king Matthias. What I do not "understand": if you read the board on the wall of the house, Matthias is stated as a Romanian king. Actually he was Hungarian, everybody knows it...

It was great to stand in a place of history, but because this building now houses the center for art and design for the university, there is nothing to see inside, no rooms to explore to try to imagine what little king Matyas might have been like as a child, no write-ups or brochures with history, just a plaque on the outside to designate the building as an historical site.

There wasn't much to see in the house when I was there - not much to do with Corvinus at any rate, or I couldn't find it - but there was a students' fair of modern jewellery they had made, which was wonderful. Great for Christmas presents too !

I like the square in which the statue is placed and I think it is a great place to visit. I like the way it looks in the summer, when you have lots of outdoor cafe's where you can hang out and just enjoy the history around you.
