“Worth spending 30 minutes”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

A unique museum in the very center of Cluj. A personal collection of medical tools from the last century. The custodian's sense of humor and the exibits, some of them quite unique, will be worth paying under two euros for a thirty-minute tour.

“Cute museum with an interesting guide”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

This small (5 rooms in all) museum has some interesting exhibits all dealing with pharmacology in ages past. Old medicines, containers, measuring instruments, lab equipment, etc. Our guide was knowledgeable and very nice. We loved the medieval part in the basement which had an ancient feel to it.

“Small but very interesting”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

We visited this museum in our Cluj visit. While the mueum itself is small (a couple of rooms and a basement) the real interesting part is the guide and the stories he tells. The guide we had was able to explain much about the various jars and artefacts in the museum with wonderful little stories and anecdotes. Some of the drugs made in old ages were of much more help to the pharmacist than to the patient :-)
The basement contains old tools and "lab equipment" used to make the drugs.

We recommend this place if you have an hour or two in Cluj.

“A short travel back into history of pharmaceuticals”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

I went to this museum with my friends out of curiosity. Unfortunately the visit was not as we expected. The museum is very small and does not hold many artefacts, but more related to what has been saved from Cluj pharmaceutical history. What is very interesting is that the museum is the actual building of the first pharmacy from Cluj-Napoca. There is an interesting section in the basement where you can see some of original tools and rooms used to make drugs in the past. Unfortunately there was no guide available even if we specifically asked for one. Very few explanations provided for the presented item.
As a conclusion, I would recommend to see this museum, as it is a short visit into the history of Cluj pharmacy, and the entrance fee is symbolic (less than 1 Euro), but don’t expect to see or learn much.
