The Ethnographic Museum is centrally located on str. Memorandumului, and easily accessible by public transport. There is no public parking. Entrance is free. The displays are somewhat tired, dull and poorly labelled. It needs a fresh approach to conform to the expectations of international visitors and to do justice to the rich culture and traditions of Transilvania.

This is one of the most renown ethnographic museum in Cluj and in the country too. Home made ceramics, furniture, carpets etc., specific for Transylvanian area and folklore, some being unique.

Although a relatively small place, you can get a great sense of the world which used to be the reality of villages around this area. Costumes, tools and pictures show you how Transylvanian peasants used to live, work and celebrate, which even today occurs in some remote places.
