“Brand new rooms”

Stayed here for the dinagyang festival. Rooms are new and clean. There was a play area at the 5th floor for the kids. Pool was being renovated.

Location was central and perfect for seeing the parade. Price is on the mid high price but its a major festival and a super peak time.

Service was great and personal.

It's easy to see that Amigo Terrace used to be grand during its heyday, but now, it's old and looks and smells old.

Our room smelled really musty, so on our way out for lunch, we asked the reception to air out our room and change the beddings. The room smelled better when we got in, so kudos to them for heeding our request.

We were able to avail of a promo price, which was great because I would not have paid more than the promo price of Php1,600/night for that.

The saving grace for me were the staff, particularly the receptionists and the waiters in the cafe, who were all very helpful and friendly. Please renovate this hotel stat and restore its grandeur.

Stayed here just for one night in early April for a 3 days 2 nights food trip in Iloilo. The moment we saw our room we wanted to leave the hotel already. Good thing we managed to cancel our 2nd night booking and transferred to another hotel, otherwise, we would not have fully enjoyed our stay in Iloilo. The hotel needs to be renovated already. The rooms are dark and the beds and carpets are quite outdated already. The location is good because it's in the heart of the city but I suggest you go for other newer hotels.
The staff were very nice though and took time in giving us directions on places that we want to go to.
Overall, you might want to consider staying in another hotel up until such that they renovate and update the hotel.

Clean enough, good internet, decent shower, bath tub... great location. A little bit expensive and old, pool is ancient. Probably was nice 10 years ago.

this is quiet a posh hotel and i liked it even while we were just at the reception. the room was cozy, although we had ran into a small problem with the aircon - couldnt get it to work but after a bit of tweeking we got what we wanted in the end - my hubby and i had a very goodnight! we were satisfied with the service and the staff were all great.

The elevators say it all.

After checking in, you would take an elevator to get to the rooms. The 2 elevators reflect what to expect. They’re old and have weird brakes you’d feel as if in a car that suddenly braked but imagine it in a vertical motion.

I have stayed in Amigo in the past and many years ago, it was one of the best hotels in Iloilo City. A renovation is long overdue however.

Upon entering the room, an aura screaming OLD would greet you. To the left would be the minibar with a refrigerator that works well although it’s discolored from age.

To the right would be the bathroom. It looked like it was recently re-tiled but they kept the marble countertop. The shower area covered by the shower curtain was very narrow. Unless you want to get entangled in the shower curtain, then you’re better off not closing it when you shower. There were toiletries provided. They were in decent containers. The towels were still clean and white.

The room was fully carpeted but there were many stains. Even the upholstery on the dresser chair and the sofa needed redoing.

The beds were fine. The sheets were thin and grey but looked clean. I just did not use the comforter because it looked like it has not been washed for quite some time.

There was a balcony but it looked grey and the back portion of the window-type air conditioner was protruding there.

In terms of location though, Amigo is in the center of town. It is beside a mall that’s been recently renovated and a few minute walk to SM Delgado and the Marymart mall.

As for the staff, they did their job. I couldn’t say there were hospitable. Nobody even offered to carry out bags for us, not that we needed any help. They just gave us a keycard and we were off to find our room ourselves.

All in all, I could not tell anymore whether or not the room was clean because it was so old so there were stains all around, even in one drawer.

Old hotel that flourished in the past and will take too much money to overhaul/ renovate. Have your functions there, but don't stay there yourself. There are other nicer hotels in town.
