This hotel is the oldest hotel but i find it comfortable to stay. The rooms are quite old but clean and cozy. Staffs are polite and very friendly with their warm smiles. In five days of our stay with my husband, we enjoyed a lot and I love the restaurants within the Hotel. They have Al dente, Freddy's bar, and the cafe Salvatore that provide for all of your cravings. We've got an Executive room that is good for two with buffet breakfast already. the hotel is located at the heart of the city so we can go everywhere we want. Very accessible! Watta nice vacay :))

Room Tip: rooms facing pool is very good to stay :)

I'd been here maybe around four times already and for me, it's the best hotel in Iloilo. It is the oldest too, I was told. The rooms are ok but the price I paid was quite expensive than what I got. What made it the best for me is the array of international restaurants within it's area and its accessibility to public transport. It is also nicely located and malls are just a jeepney ride away. I love the buffet breakfast which comes for free, there's a lot of choices and I am fully satisfied. I tried some other "newer" hotels in Iloilo but in terms of service and facilities- this hotel is a lot better.

At first glance, as you look at it from the street, you fall under the illusion that this could be a good hotel. The façade, at least, is grand and elegant. And it stops there.

While service is ok and friendly (as you would expect in the Philippines), the rooms are in a sad state. Enter the room, and you will worry about walking barefoot on the dirty, stained carpet. There's just a dirty, dusty atmosphere in general. One of our colleagues had to change rooms because of a rodent problem. Turn on the ancient, CRT TV and all you will get is static.

The bathrooms are old and are home to a couple of mosquitoes. The only good thing to say about the bathroom is that they at least have hot and cold water running water, although you would not want to run a bath in their bathtub.

If you are tempted to have a massage, resist it immediately, as the massage service is amateur and horrible. It does not help that the room does not give you a relaxing vibe in the first place. So this is certainly not a hotel that lends itself to comfort and leisure.

But if you are here for work, and you want to catch up on email, rooms do not have wi fi, and they will charge you for hourly access. And if you want to work out in their 'gym,' all you will see is a sad cramped room with cheap and old equipment.

So, to recap, it looks good at first glance, sells itself cheap, and is going on in years. There's probably an analogy here, but politeness prevents one from mentioning it.

We stayed in this hotel for 9 nights holiday/business purposes. The staffs are incredibly helpful and friendly, but their efficiency does not coincide for what a 4 stars hotel should offer. They definitely needs more training and know how about the gastronomy services. Our room was spacious and it was serviced but seems to me that the staffs are not aware that taking the used cutlery out of the guest rooms are part of the service. The amnesties such as the swimming pool and the bedroom bathroom especially looked dilapidated and tired. There were refurbishment done but looks like more remedied rather than lifting the standard. Generally the place needs a total make-over. This is so far the oldest hotel in the area and a great venue for conference but more to the locals. The breakfast seemed to be the same all throughout the 9 days stay in which my husband (who is a European) refused to eat after 5 days. The food are more centred to local palates and even bread are all 'sweetened' and quite frustrating that you cannot find the normal non-sweetened infused bread. The hotel have a car hire facilities which is very convenient, cost around 2,000 pesos (around 30 £) for a 10 hours hire with driver. They are giving you an option to fuel it for 1,500 pesos, I choose to fuel it myself and only paid around 800 pesos for the whole day drive, any extra hours are charged to 200 pesos/hour which is a very good value for an air condition transport. Taxi are very convenient and good accessibility, just informed the concierge on the gate and they will order you a taxi from the street straight to the hotel main entrance. There are some good walking distance seafood restaurant in the area such as the 'Ocean City' which has some live music in the evening, cheap and high quality seafood, all in for a couple for just under 10£. Opposite of the hotel is a very cheap Thai foot and body massage 'NUat THai' which one can have 30 minutes foot massage and 1 hour full body massage all for amazingly £6.

Room Tip: We have an executive room which was sort of alright and for 10£ get a supreme room which is situated in the 5th floor which has a coffee making facilities and better bed sheets and comfort mattress. Request in the reception for a swimming pool view room, it is better that any other view in the area as the front of the hotel are currently building site.

The hotel itself is maintained, the rooms likewise. However, budget rooms are really not worth staying. Since the hotel's location is great and you really want to stay for a night or two, choose the Standard room and up. Don't stay at the Budget Room/s.
