For the centre of Bacolod and easy access to SM mall and the ferry terminal, this place can't be beaten Rates are lower and the room is perfectly comfortable. The garden is a lovely place to relax in and the staff are friendly. I have stayed here 3 times and never had a problem to make a complaint about. It's fine and good value for money.

Our first booking was for a Deluxe Room but my roommate hated the toilet so we requested for a Business Deluxe Room. The latter room is so much better and for an extra P100 it is so worth it. Too bad cable tv wasn't working. We were stuck with Disney Channel. We requested that they fix it but it seems like the problem was with the connection so we didn't bother. Everyone at the place was helpful.

O.K...not the best place, but we're not looking for glamour here. When using Bacolod as a junction city, a place to rest after a long bus trip, while awaiting the next portion of your journey...this is it! At less than $20U.S. per night, with air conditioning, bathroom, and satellite t.v....can't be beat. Not the cleanest walls we've ever seen, and towels and bedding were ragged, but all were washed clean. No bugs. We were on the 4th floor, and it was really cool and quiet, and our room opened to a wonderful common garden area, with seating, where one could meet his/her neighbors while having a coffee or beer, under the stars. We are in our 50's, backpacking, but always in aircon at night, looking for security. This place worked well for us, and we would stay here again, under the same circumstances. By the way, we just walked in off the street, and they had a busy convention of gov workers, and we were still taken care of.

Room Tip: Get the 4th floor for under-the-stars garden court

I'll only recommend this place for travelers in a very strict budget. The hotel is located in the center of the city and it was a bit dirty. The room was passable but there was a constant humming noise coming from the AC and a machine outside the room.

The sheets were old but clean, they provided only one flat pillow and the cable TV was not working. What I didn't like though was the service. The person at the desk gave me the wrong directions and I ended up in late for my appointment because of this. I also had a difficult time confirming my transportation to the airport (had to call them several times to confirm it).

Weeks before our trip, a friend reserved a business room that will fit in 3 people. We got the business matrimonial and the price was good- less than 1k.

We asked if they had airport-hotel transfer, and got no answer. Later on, when it was too late, we learned no vehicle was available.

When we checked in, they gave us a room different from what we asked for, but it was ok, no big deal. When we went up, the rooftop garden was nice, a big surprise from the lobby. Wifi was ok. When we entered our room, it was ok. Clean and big enough but the beds were not what we asked for. Since we were 3, we asked for one big bed and a single bed. We got two single beds. Still, we made it work for us.

But the bathroom--oh my! The floor tiles looks like they need a good spraying of bleach and some good, hard scrubbing. There were stains/discolorations. It looks like you would not dare set a bare foot on the floor. The wall tiles looked new but the floor tiles did not. The sink was grody. There were dark lines between the sink and the wall. The sink faucet was turned towards the wall that you have to hold on to it when you use it.

We could not bear spending another night in there that we had to transfer to another hotel just across the street. What we paid at Check Inn, we just added less than 500bucks and we got a better hotel room that was way bigger, cleaner and way, way better.

Oh, the in has a great location, being very accessible to public transpo and very near SM City and Manukan Country.

Check in is a perfectly average hotel. The price is excellent for the amenities they offer, it's in a good location in Bacolod, and the staff are professional. It's near a grocery and some restaurants (there's also a cafe on the ground floor) as well as the Bacolod public park. It's walking distance to SM Bacolod, where you can ride on shuttle buses to the airport for just a hundred pesos. Jeepneys also pass by just outside the hotel, so if you're interested in taking public transport it's easy access as well.

The sheets were clean and so was the bathroom, though the toilet was on the small side and there were ants on occasion. One thing that bothered me was that the free wifi in the rooms was abysmally slow. Really nothing spectacular about the hotel, but if you're looking for a good, inexpensive place to stay in Bacolod, you can't go wrong with Check Inn!

I've stayed twice at bacolod check inn. The first one was during the masskara festival 2007. it was my first time in bacolod. Its strategically located in the heart of bacolod city. its near SM bacolod and the plaza where the festival usually take place. it's also near the Manukan village there's a strip of restaurants serving their local bacolod chicken inasal. when you look outside check inn you might think that its not a good place to stay in because it doesn't have a lobby. the reception area is open and not air-conditioned but when we got into the room our room was big and clean. we are 5 in the group so the room is still spacious for us. their staff are all nice and friendly. they'll attend to your needs as fast as they can. the hotel has a room service too but the food is not that expensive. my friends and I liked our stay so the following year we stayed at check inn and requested to get the same room where we stayed last 2007. so for travellers who are on a tight budget i would recommend bacolod check inn. its a good place to stay without hurting your pocket.
