“Newly Renovated but Average Hotel”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Bacolod is a very progressive city.I enjoy my one day stay there. Bacolod has lots of small hotels, therefore I did not expect so much considering the price I paid. Front desk staff did not know their rates. I had to show them. The superior room was averaged, although newly renovated with lcd tv. bathroom was small, and the heater was faulty, I took caol shower. Sleeping was horrible due to the noise on the ground floor where there was a party. The restaurant had nice food menu, although the free breakfast was very ordinary. All in all my Bacolod trip was very enjoyable less the hotel that I would not go back to.

Room Tip: Get room at the back as it is far from the noise of the party room downstair. It is only three story...

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and felt it was very good value for the money. Hotel staff was very hospitable. I met the owners who are very nice and trying to make improvements. The hotel fee was very cheap considering the nice lobby and location, but the rooms are quite dated and needing some rennovation. Bathroom is very small and shower right on top of the toilet but everything was clean and acceptable. Unfortunately I was put on the side facing the street and near the elevatorand it was very noisy at night with traffic noises as well as the phone ringing. Breakfast is Ok but more suited to Filipinos than westerners. I could use some yogurt at least. Overall a nice place to stay in Bacolod and a very reasonable price but a 3 star hotel at best.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing the main street - very noisy.

When we arrived, only one front desk officer stood out and made a difference. She warmly welcomed us and we appreciated it. Her name is Sheena. She saved the day for the hotel and left us with a good first impression.

The hotel room itself has good amenities with a modern motif. The room we got was a standard room with twin beds. The TV is LCD. Air conditioning can get cold but the bed has comforters. The closet is a sliding door type with a safe in it.

The bathroom has a heater and is good.

Apparently, the hotel was recently renovated or refurbished.

There are minor downsides to the room we got. The closet shows old electric circuits no longer in use and no current. The upper deck of the closet is unpainted and not clean. The bottom of the bathroom mirror is faded black. The clothes or towel hook at the back of the door is missing and shows the door's previous paint color.

However, for me, the minor downsides are not enough to tip the scales.

Breakfast is served at the poolside. Service was attentive but the choice of food was not as numerous as expected. The food is not bad but not fantastic either. It's just OK.

The pool is not a swimming pool. It's more like a dipping pool because the pool is quite shallow.

Wifi is free. Just ask the front desk for it.

Overall, this is a great place to stay.

after an excellent night in a comfortable hotel, we were disappointed with the buffet breakfast that was offered for P250 to each person staying in the hotel. the food variety and general quality of the food is terrible for the price, and the food could be bought for much cheaper across at the 'karinderia' side street eateries at similar quality.
