I chose to stay in Plantation Bay Resort and Spa one weekend because of the reviews that I’ve read from Tripadvisor. I love to swim and the month of March is typically humid, hot and sweaty here in the Phils. The pools and lagoons in Plantation Bay is truly a treat to a weary soul. The clean, cool and revitalizing salt water lagoons and the fresh water pools are beautifully designed and strategically located a few steps from well appointed rooms and suites within the resort. The coconut trees, a variety of palm trees, and numerous flowering bushes creates a green foliage, refreshing to my tired eyes. You can do laps in the East saltwater swimming lagoon since the water is just 1.4 m deep and very safe. It is safe for children to splash around and play in the Children's lagoon. At the Kilimanjaro freshwater swimming pool you can unwind and have a cool Power Drink from the swim-up bar. There are a number of jacuzzis around the pool where you can relax and have a soft water massage. The verdant greeneries around the Savannah Pool and the mini volcano makes this place unique and interesting to kids and adults alike. I simply cannot get over the fantastic sight of the many lagoons and pools around Plantation Bay.I can go back to this resort again and again. Service around the resort is superior and truly first class. They have a number of restaurants who serve palatable international cuisine and mind you the price of food is just right! The rooms and suites are indeed first class. As a matter of fact, the resort is undergoing rehab on one of the buildings and the Mogambo Falls was also being rehabilitated. It is truly a family resort and a lovers (honeymooners) rendevouz place as well. Me and my family enjoyed a cool weekend in Plantation Bay in spite of the hot humid Mactan weather in March.

Room Tip: Choose Chenonceaux House; you can practically jump into the water from the veranda of the lower room...

I dont know quite what to say about this resort.

But, lets mention the few positive things first.
Nice Beach. Good food.

The lagoon must be the most dirty pool ive ever seen!! And its not sand as it may look like, its concrete. We did not swin in it after we found a big worm in the water. The whole lagoon looked infectius. They need some serious makeover at this place. I would not recomend this resort for anyone. If you go here with kids, be shure to get them vacsined before you put them in. You never know what kind of nasty things they may get by bathing in the lagoon!

Overall service of the staff is okey, but my wife tried to bring a cupcake from breakfast (that she payed insanley alot for) and they stoped her and refused her like she was a thief.

They have no room for giving good service. The just give the service they have been told to give.

I will never spend another dollar at this dirty resort again.

They need to close down and do some changes!

Room Tip: Dont choose any room! find your self another resort. preferebly a new one.

My ninety year old mother and I travelled here in January for our cousin's wedding.
The staff were so friendly and nice. They helped us organize tours to Cebu City and Lapu Lapu. The trolley service was very helpful in getting around the resort easily. We never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for one to come by. Our room was nice and clean.
There was a tiny lizard in our room one night and a staff came immediately and took it outside. The food was expensive but very tasty. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and everyone was so helpful. We went to the spa (in fact I went twice). It was clean and the massages were excellent. I would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Quantum House which was very close to where the rest of our family were staying w...

The rooms are super clean, and worth every cent you pay for the hotel. The kids loved the Kilimanjaro pool since the water was a little warm. Very nice place, very quiet... nice for bonding time with family.

My only issue with this hotel is the the food is priced like a 5-star hotel but the taste is not as fantastic.

Road going to the resort is bad. However, the resort is awesome. Very nice and simple buildings line across the resort boundary area with lagoons warm enough to do the swimming anytime during day and even at night. Although food is quite expensive but the taste is good. The weather is warm and humid even in the month of February, but does not bother me at all. Price of hotel room is quite expensive, but seemingly not bad when you have the dollar with you. I might be back again someday...

Room Tip: Second floor rooms with the view

I've been in this hotel by recommendation... the hotel has a good landscape. You will enjoy walking around and taking pictures. We've taken a pool side room which is a good and wise choice for me aside from the fact that it's price is lower than any other rooms you will also feel more private and i guess equally comfortable like any other rooms. The hotel is far from the city so plan your transportation ahead of time if you want to go around Cebu. There are restaurants inside the hotel but make sure that you have some bucks since it is a little expensive and definitely not for a "budget" holiday getaway in short you must be willing to spend. I can rate their food taste to 7, 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. For me, 2-3 night stay is enough for you to enjoy the place and take advantage of their facilities. They will be kind enough to grant your late check out request if there's no full occupancy. Overall i can rate this hotel with 8...
