“WOW - Best Family Resort in Cebu”
Reviewed September 6, 2011

We stayed here with our two children for 4 nights. We used the babysitting service a few times and they were fantastic. Dinner buffet was ok, i have had better before. Breakfast buffet was delicious but expensive compared to other hotels (900 php). Bottle washing and sterilisation for baby bottles was free, free bottles of drinking water are delivered whenever you need them. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are awesome. We had a room right in front of the lagoon, it was great as we could swim while the kids had a sleep inside. Only problem was the resort room verandahs were tiled, making it very slippery when wet. Their beach towel system is also a bit silly. Nice and quiet at night time, and there is so much to do here that you really dont need to leave the resort. Sure they charge you for almost everything, but so does the shangri la's and they have more expensive hotel rooms. Plantation is much better value for money and much more family orientated.
I noticed they have a tarot card reader there - that could be fun, but i never got the chance to have a reading.
We will definately return here.

The location is very far from the airport inspite the fact that it's just in the same island. Airport representative was lousy as we have to look for him and waited for several minutes. The view of the resort was nice although we were quite disappointed with the room we got. Quite old and not as per the pictures on their website. Not really a 5 star resort I should say compared to the Shangri-la. Room rates are just way too expensive for the type of rooms they have. food and beverage as well as transportation to the city is just too much. They charge you in everything even in snorkling gadgets. The beach is quite disappointing with rocks and weeds floating. Overall it was just an okay 4-days stay. Not impressive.

Wonderful place to stay, idylic but expensive. It's miles from anywhere so everything has to be bought on site.
My room was spacious, with a veranda overlooking the salt water lagoon. The bathroom was huge with a shower cubicle and very large corner bath.
The staff were all very friendly and at pains to be polite and welcoming.
However, for all it's minor faults I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

We spent two nights, three days there with out 11 year old daughter. We arrived a bit early for check-in, but were greeted warmly. Our luggage was taken and we were given luggage tags. This was great, the next time we saw our luggage was when we were driven to our room. Anyway, while we waited for our room, we were driven to the place on the resort that was open for lunch. It was an open air restaurant, with no air condition, but had ceiling fans. Food was OK, service was great.

Our room was very clean and we were provided with complimentary bottles of water anytime we wanted them. Bathroom was nice, there was a tub and shower. The only thing with the shower was that the water got outside and if you didn't put a towel down, when you stepped out the floor was wet and slippery. Other than that the room was wonderful, just two steps to the water. The nightly buffet dinner was fun! Just make sure you have reservations.

The best part about this place was not having to worry about how much to tip. After coming from another island where everyone asked for a tip, this was a great relief. This encouraged us to use room service and we had a wonderful family dinner on the patio of our room. All you had to do was ask and you received! The resort is a bit away from the hustle of the city and you needed a taxi to get to tourist areas. However, everything you needed was at the resort.

We took advantage of the spa services and included our 11 y.old. She actually had a head, neck and leg massage while we indulged in a couples massage. Spa is great, super clean and well maintained. In retrospect, I wished we had booked one of the spa rooms. We'd definitely return....soon I hope.

Room Tip: Book a room right on the water.

The minute we stepped onto this place all we can say is "wow!". Our room situated near the lagoon is the best resort room my wife and I have seen. Complete with our very own veranda overlooking the lagoons and massive space for both of us, although my wife is missed her bathtub as our room did not provide any, but the shower was good enough.Anyway, when we arrived our bed had swan shaped towels, lots of rose petals and champagne chilled, not to mention the chocolates. Wasn't that a special treat!
The resort arranged activites for us like the Cebu city tour which blew us away and water sports activities. The grounds in Plantation bay are just massive. Lots of activites to do and plenty of restaurant to choose from when we got hungry after.
The lagoons and pools are fantastic but if we were to make a suggestions on maintaining the cleanliness of the pool is to purchase an aqua cat - like a hoover to clean the flooring of the pool so no more slimey pool floors and what other undesirable floaters in the water. But other than that the lagoons are fun to go kayaking.
What else can we say, good food, good service and clean rooms...ah! get ready to spend in this palce as it is not really a cheap place. But what to you expect from a deluxe resort? With a deluxe place comes a deluxe cost so bring extra cash. Love the the nightly entertainment by the way.
