Check in with Amuma-Spa-Suite worth 6700pesos with breakfast buffet. I expected too much but to my dismay, the room smells very old. Door locks are not that secured. Also with the breakfast, cebu is well known with very sweet delicious ripe mangoes but they only served fruits papaya, banana and pineapple. The buffet was soo simple. For me its not worth the price.

I stayed there weekend of "Sinulog" Festival so it was very crowded. They said they had upgraded me to a "Beach Room" (I assume the Spa Room I wanted was oversold). Some beach Rooms are on the beach, mine was not. It was near a noisy commercial kitchen. Service is quite good and the employees are overly polite. The resort itself appears a little old and shopworn compared to the much newer neighbor, Costabella resort. For some inexplicable reason their breakfast service was out of eggs (!) but they tried to make it up to me in every conceivable way - free bottle of wine (at 9 am?) and free transport onward to next place. The General manager himself was very gracious. No complaints about service here.

Room Tip: Choose a spa room, or if you choose a beach MAKE THEM give you one actaully at the beach!

Sumion Bluewater Resort and Spa is far more beautiful than this resort, but Maribago's service is just amazing and sweet. Filipino culture at its finest, everyone seems happy and helpful.

Beach area is ok, a lot of better beach in Mactan.

Food is awesome! I loved everything they serve. (specially their macaroons!)

This is just jeepney away from Savemore Mactan, very convennient. I think the fare only costs 10 php.

Pool is nice, clean and child friendly.

Overall, it is a positive experience for me me. Again, food is amazing!

My husband really liked the resort except for the salt water shower. We both enjoyed our stay and the resort was really peaceful and away from the noise of the city. We wanted to relax before we return to the states and we found it here.
The swimming pool was nice though it's not too deep (I guess this makes it kid or family friendly resort). We suggest that you ask all guests to shower first before they go swimming because some of them looked like they just gotten up and swum right away. We had to leave the pool.
There were staff watching the pool specifically the children and that was nice, but please ask them or guest to shower first :) The beach is okay,we enjoyed our walk.
The staff were friendly and they continue to keep the resort nice, clean and safe. Our room was on the second floor, non smoking and although the housekeeper fell short on the amenities,it wasn't really a big deal.
The bed was okay but please change your pillows and sheets! With what people pay,the sheets should be nice and also the towels. Make your beddings hotel quality again :) also at least allow guest to bring our own water (without charge) since you can't use or drink the tap water and maybe change the shower water to clean water instead of salt water.
The associate in the gift shop was also nice.
By the way, we bought a door sign because it was really nice.
With the room service, it was good just use less oil and we finally had an egg over easy that was right.
Over all experience considering it was our first stay,it was good and we will be back again.
Check out process a little slow but they were very helpful.

The slow and inefficient check in took more than 1 hour with ID's and passports required for each guest. The pool was ok but the stone edging was very sharp and dangerous and max depth only 4 feet. The beach was dirty and we decided not to swim there. The dozens of workers wandering about greeting you requires continuous responses, not very relaxing or private. The room was ok but had only one toothbrush and one short roll of toilet paper, no shampoo or bath soap and only 2 towels for our party of 4. The $4 plus dollar water and beer and filled mini fridge was abusive and the room water labeled unsafe. We immediately spent more "resort" time walking to a nearby sari-sari store and bought our own water. Drinks, food, and all additional amenities were exorbitantly over priced. On checkout our party was splitting to 2 locations and needed 2 taxicabs. The dozens of concierge, bellhop, doomen and guards denied this and insisted we ride in their overpriced airconditioned vans. We declined by once again exiting the hotel on foot and waving down our own cabs. Very strange behavior from a resort attempting to be high class. Perhaps their real attempt is to empty their guests pocket.

My wife and I just stayed overnight at Maribago Bluewater in an Amuma Spa Suite. We received a Gift Certificate a while ago and just now had time to use it. When we saw Spa Suite, we didn't check the details online to know what it would include since it had the name Suite in it. Turns out it's just the location that the room was located in the wing closest to the spa.

When we arrived we were greeted and check in was very quick and painless. Check-in time isn't supposed to be until 2pm, but they were nice enough to let us check in early at Noon. They gave us a map of the resort and wrote important information and we went off to find our room.

The spa suite was very large and spacious. The decor is kind of rustic, so you can't tell when it was last updated. The bathroom was extremely large with a tub and a shower. It is advertised on the website as "al fresco" but was really just made to kind of look like a hut with rocks as the floor. There is the option to keep just a screen to keep the bugs out but still feel open facing the pool.

For some reason there is no wifi available inside the rooms. I don't really mind so much because we aren't at a resort to sit online, but I find it strange when they offer hundreds of cable channels on TV but no wifi.

Another negative thing is the water in the bathroom. When we poured the bath, the water came out kind of pale yellow. Even when using just the hot water in the shower, it took several minutes to get even slightly warm. The water in the shower was slightly salty; no I didn't taste it but could tell when it ran over my face and lips.

I like the design of the bathroom with the rocks on the floor. But it's actually quite painful to walk to the shower or bathtub with bare feet. Seems like they could have made a walkway or stepping stones with rocks around it. Not a major thing, but it's just annoying to have to put on flipflops in order to take a shower or bath.

As soon as we put our things in the room, we went to look around and check out the options for swimming. We walked by the different pools and made it to the beach where it was high tide. Mactan island is well-known for it's beaches and unfortunately this beach was not amongst the best. It's really more of a lagoon because of a tiny man made island not far from the main beach. The water was clear but there was a lot of sea grass. Also, no fish or any animal life and the water was too shallow for snorkeling even at high tide. Since we had brought our snorkeling gear we asked about options, but was told there is nothing on site and would have to rent a boat to find a place. I thought that for a nice resort they would have more offerings at the beach.

After wading around the "beach" for a few minutes we decided to head over to a pool. As it is the holidays there were quite a few kids around using (and abusing) the pools and a water slide. The staff there did their best to keep up with them. Some kids were running around without their parents, riding 2-3 at a time down the slide, and trying to run down the slide standing up.

While walking around we saw a lot of activities planned for the children, but didn't see any one joining. The activities looked fun. But unfortunately we only saw the kids there running around at the pool. But in case you plan on taking the kids for a few days, there are plenty of activities to keep them busy.

We had booked a spa package when we made our reservation so we left the pool to get ready. The spa is really nice and the therapists did an excellent job. We booked the 90-minute Amuma signature hilot massage (a traditional Filipino massage). While it is a little pricey (normal for resort prices, but expensive for Philippines), the signature hilot massage includes a themed dinner buffet (normally P1,200 on its own). The treatment was so relaxing and it was one of the better massages I've had.

We were very relaxed and went straight for dinner. The theme of the night was Mediterranean buffet. The food was excellent as was the service. For food, they had a lot of options plus a pizza and pasta station where you could have them make it order. They had a live band performing which was nice. As with most resorts, the buffet only includes service water and the drinks are very expensive. My wife was charged almost P200 for a glass of kalamansi juice.

At night there was what sounded like a mix between a disco and karaoke. It was quite loud as we heard it over the TV in the room. It lasted until 10pm and then stopped. It was annoying but didn't stop us from sleeping since it ended at 10, but it you plan on going to sleep early then there might be a problem. Not sure if this can be heard in other areas of the resort, but we could hear it from our Amuma Spa Suite.

The next morning the breakfast buffet, which was included, was outstanding. There was so much to choose from with American, Filipino, and Korean (they have a lot of Korean guests) offerings. Again the service was excellent.

Unfortunately it rained the morning so we went back to the room and watched TV. We were offered a late check out at 2pm, instead of Noon, but since it was raining and we live nearby we decided to head home instead.

Overall it was a very good experience. The service was great all around in every venue. The spa was worth the indulgence, especially if you get one with a buffet dinner included. The food was top notch for dinner and breakfast. The only let down was the swimming venues.

Room Tip: The Amuma Spa suites are the farthest from the beach. There is also a disco/karaoke that was very l...

I couldn't believe that all over the lobby people were allowed to smoke. Ok it is open air, but that doesn't help if everywhere you want to sit with your kids suddenly a smoker turns up and pollutes the air.
