Review of Lapu Lapu Statue

Lapu Lapu Statue
Reviewed February 26, 2013

The LapuLapu Monument depicts the victory of LapuLapu, a local chieftain in Mactan, over the Spanish "conquestadores". He was a brave
Filipino and the first Filipino hero to defend the cause of freedom against a foreign invader. As a tribute to his bravery, this monument was erected on the site of the battle. The monument is regularly visited by tourists. I would like to suggest though that they add more plants and trees around the monument. It would also be good to add more benches for tourists to sit on. And of course to ensure the safety of tourists, policemen should be posted near this area 24/7!

The euros attacked and the Philippine natives fought back. You can relive the action and enjoy some shopping.
