2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed May 22, 2019via mobile
3 hours difference of check in time but still charge additional payment. I can understand if
Hotel is full but if its available they have to consider it but still the same issue as before.
Money minded hotel doesn't care of the service anymore.
Not really recommended hotel

Location ****
Central area of Cebu next to Ayala Mall. Getting around Cebu during peak times seemed bad due to traffic so plan accordingly. We had a 1.5 hour trip from airport to hotel early on a Friday afternoon (it is about 13km!!).

Facilities***
The hotel is getting a little old and seems like it is due for a refresh soon. The room was exceptionally big with everything you would expect for the price. The pool was ok along with a typical bare bones hotel gym.
Everything worked and WiFi, after being out on islands for a few weeks seemed lightning fast! Breakfast at the hotel was average.

Service***
No issues with service from anyone, the few requests I had were resolved quickly and pleasantly by bar staff, front desk and housekeeping.

I chose this hotel based on the combination of central location and pool which worked well for us, we would stay here again.

Disappointed with this hotel.Reception staff very unwelcoming porters were ok security staff we very welcoming.
Bathroom floor very slippery there was a hazard sign on the wall. When you are elderly you don't Want this.
There was a kettle in the room but we were only given 2 one cup sachets of coffee and two sugars
We had booked two nights but our flight changed so only stayed a few. hours. We were glad to leave.Location good as Ayla Mall is close to the hotel.Bar prices in the hotel reasonable but food is overpriced.Lot more choices in Ayla Mall. Would not stay at this hotel again.

Dirty rooms,
Ill mannered FO and housekeeping.

Check in was great,
Lounge bday celebration of my mom was great.

Bed was high so I moved the mattress down for my baby's safety as the bed was single in size.

The floor under the bed was extremely dirty and dusty that caused my daughter to have asthma attack and she had pleghm, shortage of breathe plus phlegm so she vomited.

I asked the housekeeping to clean my room the next morning as my daughter vomited.

When I came back they cleaned some part of the room but not the bed so I had to call them over again.

I even had to show to the housekeeping which exactly to sweep and to change the bed sheet as I was so sure they never thought of cleaning it properly.

The guy left quickly and I was not able to pass him tips.

Then my sister received a phone call saying we had to pay 2k for the bed movement. My sister explained that
I did it for the safety of my baby because hotel did not provide babycot.

They said they will check and will call back.

I didn't hear anything from them so with all my logical self, I assumed they allowed me.

When we checked out, they charged us 2k.

We had a mad conversation.

My point was, you don't charge guest when you fail to inform guest.
They showed me a paper with house rules and signature, how stupid because the signature was my Japanese friend who can't understand English!!

Front office, don't you know why communication skill is part of your job?? Because you don't just inform!! You communicate and communication is a 2 way process, how do you expect my Japanese friend could tell me about the house rules when you failed to check his background, before you let him sign, it is your duty to know whether he understands everything and even if he understands everything it is never his duty to inform me nor the rest of the family!!

FO insisted there was a page rules on top of the bed, there was none!! Talk to the housekeeping or room svc! Scold them if you need to but there was none!!.

I was so disappointed because I didn't bother the dirt and even the asthma attack that the hotel caused just to have a smooth stay but you guys charged me because I moved the bed for my child's safety??

Speaking of dirt, my daughter had her bottle fallen under the bed of my sister when we went to her room and it was so dirty as well.. your rooms look clean outside but smells dirty inside, because they are really dirty underneath the bedsheets..

Okay fine, my fault, ignorance of the law excuses no one, but the housekeeping guy saw it, can't he be properly trained to at least tell me frankly that moving of the bed is not allowed rather than walking off my room quickly to inform FO and then FO as well didn't follow up!!
"I wish the guy said madame, may I please remind you that moving of bed may cost you 2k" just as simple as that then I should have known.

Be professional and courteous!! You all are there for the guests to have a beautiful stay not to find fault at guests!! Don't be silly!!

The FO also told me that they didn't know there was a baby, c'mon guys, don't you have a system like opera?? Don't you hand over infos and issues?? Do you want me to teach you how?? Gosh!! Shame!! And during the time they asked me to pay my child was with me. So what are we doing? Talking blind?? Use your eyes to see that the baby I was carrying was of course my child and that we have to use our brain to analyse that the baby I was with right at that moment was the child I was talking about with your charges!!

Don't shoot guests without bullets, before you do things like this or demand things for guest to pay, review the guests' profile,

Policy is always there but some policies are not applicable for some. I could not let my child die by falling off your bed. In the first place, you staff should have told me at the counter area right away when we were checking in that there was no baby cot, that the bed was high, or that you shouldn't let us check in because you cannot comply when it comes to child's safety inside the room.

One staff said all beds were all standard size, I know, I know.. my point, I had no idea before I checked in that the bed was high, Inform me, but you didn't, there were many times you guys could have informed me about moving of the bed but you all neglected and waited for the check out time and charged me. Unfair.
2k is nothing, but I needed to fight for my right.
And to remind you, I called to check about moving of the bed but heard nothing.

I would pay the 2k and would dispute the room bills if they didn't accept my reason.

Guys life is give and take, At first I didn't complain about your flaws, I tried to talk but you left me no choice, I shut my eyes closed for your mistakes which were done on purpose like not cleaning the room properly, don't tell me it was an accident,, and you open your mouth for my mistake which I was not aware of and I wouldn't wanna call it my mistake, it was a mother's duty--child's safety.

And then the towels!! The housekeeping said negative!! They simply meant that we stole their towels. I really asked my sister to call police for false accusations.

If I had the lounge band extended their time with pay for my mom's celebration, why the hell would I get bothered bringing the towels!! Dirty and stained towels!! We don't have stained towels at home and to tell you the truth our towels are all branded and mostly from Italy and Korea.

My mom and I asked the housekeeping team to have our baggages checked and if towels were nowhere to be found in our baggages we will sue the hotel for the accusations.

They didn't check.

We honestly wanted to check in at waterfront, Bai and maayo but they were fully booked so we left with no choice with you. I had a great first impression because the barman cooperated with us in celebration of my mom's bday sadly, not all first impression lasts..

Still I thank you. May God bless you all, I do hope that He will send you a great leader to have your hotel properly managed and staff to be properly trained.

Overall a decent stay for less than other nearby hotels. The location near Ayala Mall is great but we didn't know that the whole mall (and others in Cebu) would be closed for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, which was half of our trip!

First the positive about the room: our room (#1918) had plenty of space, a nice wardrobe, everything seemed clean and fresh, there was plenty of hot water (completely filled the tub and there was still hot water left), water pressure was good, wall mounted hair dryer was fine, floors were squeaky clean (no carpet). Electrical outlets were convenient and took both European and American plugs (except not the grounding pin found on some American plugs and but remember that it's 220v in the Philippines). The room looked out over the city, which was nice, but still not the best view. Basic toiletries were provided (shampoo, conditioner & body wash) but no facial tissue or shower cap, etc. There was a safe that a laptop will fit in but we didn't use it. We never had to wait too long for the elevator. The beds were Asian hard but we slept pretty well. Two pillows were provided on each single bed. A bottle of water was provided each day for each person. There was a kettle or coffee maker (never used it). The air-con worked very well. The room was quiet. There's a phone in the room for local calls. The desk was nice and large. The TV worked great and was a good size. Two bath towels were provided and also two washcloths and a bath mat, but no hand towels. The number of hangers was about what other places seem to have.

Now the negative about the room: I couldn't get wifi when laying in the bed & had to walk over to the door area to get a signal. I ended up using phone data instead. The adjustable shower head kept sliding down the bar and after engineering came to fix it, it wasn't any better. There is also a rainshower head so we used that but prefer a regular shower head. The small refrigerator didn't work and we asked to have that fixed or replaced while we were gone on a tour. The young woman at the desk never said anything about how engineering will not go into a room unless guests are present so everything was the same when we got back. However, they came and replaced the refrigerator AND the TV remote almost immediately when we were there. Lighting seemed kind of dim to me.

Check-in was quick and easy but be ready to give them a 1,000 peso deposit.

Check-out: Give yourself plenty of time to check out! There were about 4-5 people ahead of me and I waited about 20 mins before it was my turn and then it took a while for them to get someone to check the room. They couldn't find both washcloths at first so that took even longer until they found one hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I'd advise leaving all that kind of thing out in full view. The line got longer and longer while they checked each room to make sure everything was still there.

Breakfast: It looked good online so we included breakfast every day in our booking, but we tired of it after the first day. The bread pudding on the buffet seemed burned and the bacon had some kind of breaded coating on it or something? and wasn't crispy. I liked the scrambled eggs okay and they were cooked firm. Pancakes were maybe 3" across. There WAS some variety and we saw a lot of people enjoying it but we completely skipped eating there the last day and opted to have an early lunch over at the mall before heading to the airport.

Restaurant: We ate at the restaurant two evenings and it was okay (average). The menu has a nice variety. Service as good and the servers were attentive and friendly.

Room tip: If you need wifi, ask for a room where the signal is strong.

My wife and I stayed for a friends wedding, the room was good and the service was wonderful. But the breakfast was ok at best. Pancakes were cold and hard and the scrambled eggs runny. The pool was cloudy or murky. The view and location was very good. I would recommend the hotel highly but do not bother with the restaurant. However the snack bar offers a selection of cheese cakes that are out of this world. The blue berry cheesecake is the best I have every enjoyed.

Room tip: the view from the higher rooms are breathtaking
