Broken down furniture, request for extra pillow denied, no chair in the room, no free water, airco blowing directly on the bed. Had reservation for 5 nights, but we left after 1 night. No refund possible. We had a superior room but it needs complete overhaul.

We've been to Bohol Beach Club and because Tambuli Beach Club is managed by the same company, we were confident that we'll enjoy our stay.

The beach was honestly, dirty. The corals and the not so sandy beach was acceptable but the plastic and candy wrappers weren't. And in the same beach were the boats which made swimming a little uncomfortable.

The food was so-so unlike in BBC where we really enjoyed everything that they offered.

The rooms were spacious and alright although there were insects at night.

The staff was very helpful though

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tambuli East and West Beach Club. I was shocked at the spacious grounds in which they have. Very large Place with a lot of Walkways and Garden Areas. It was very nice and grounds was kept very clean. Not a lot of outside furniture and setting places in the garden areas, but very nice with large trees and sand, and very shaded and cool place to hang out. They have two pools, one which is larger than the other. Both are maintained very well. They are also two restaurants and bar areas, which have a great selection of drinks and food. The complimentary breakfast that comes with most rooms was very nice. Large Selection on the Buffet to choose from.. All the staff was very nice and accommodating. Always ready to lend a helping hand, and trying to make you stay as comfortable as possible. The beach area was also very nice.. It could stand a little more maintained and cleaning, but all in all it was big enough and the sand, while not pure white, was a joy.. Being I am not a big beach person, it was fine for me. After the beach area, the sand runs out very fast and then you have a green sea grass floor on the bottom of the ocean. At first I did not care much for walking in the grass, but after a while it was fine, and is actually very soft on your feet..

They have all the water sports available right on the beach. You can take just about any kind of tour, water sport you can imagine.. I was disappointed in the prices, as they was quite expensive.. I would suggest to negotiate and have them lower the price some. They are many other cheaper and great quality tours and water sports you can get outside the resort. But, if you do not want to leave the resort and spend the time to arrange for that, then their tours are fine. Just have to haggle for the price..

The thing I was most impressed with, is the value for what you get. Although it might not have all the perks of a 5 star hotel, it is very nice and gives you almost everything the other resorts in the area does, but with a much cheaper price tag.. In low season you can get a standard room for P 2500. If you just wanted to visit the resort without staying there you can get a day pass for P 500 in which 400 of this is consumable. Pretty good deal...

For the budget minded person, and even not budget minded, i would surely suggest to go and at least give it a look.. I enjoyed it and would go back again...

My Filipino wife and I took her whole family to this resort for two nights. Everything on Mactan is expensive for the Philippines so the price was actually good. I rented 6 rooms for 2 nights for about $950. Breakfast was real good. Swimming pools are excellent. Water sports are expensive but not any more compared to the other local resorts. I had one person try to sell me stuff on the beach and I just ignored them, eventually they go away. The kids had a fantastic time. Rooms are not the Shang Ri La but they don't cost $250-300 a night also. I have been to that resort also when we renewed our wedding vows. Remember that resorts are usually cheaper in the off-season for a reason, usually involves heavy rain in the Philippines.

We love Cebu. Taxis from the hotel will rip you off compared to local ones. The airport taxis will also. That is why locals will walk a little for a fare that is about 1/2 price. It will cost about $3-4 for a taxi to SM which is a BIG shopping mall. Airport is about $2 if you don't go for the hotel/airport rates.

Breakfast was real good. Didn't eat other meals there so I can't comment.

The smiles on my neices and nephews faces were priceless and in the end that is what counts.

I have stayed at several beach resorts in the Philippines in the past so I had some bais for comparison. This trip I also stayed at the Bohol Beach Club; I stayed at Tambuli East which is a short walk from Tambuli West all under same management with shared facilities. Not much difference from the two though Tambuli West had a much larger and imaginative pool and jacuzzi. Rooms were not 4 star but this is a beach resort not a Marriot or Hilton city hotel. Rooms were clean and very acceptable. Good service. Rooms similar to Bohol Beach club though plumbing better at Tambulli. Especially toilets. The restaurants at Tambuli had excellent food at reasonable prices. Food at Tambuli definately had an edge over Bohol Beach Club which seemed to have buffets frequently and typical buffet quality food. As far as the ocean goes, you need to wear rubber beach shoes at both places as once u enter the ocean it is rocky. OUCH!! The beach and beach facilities were nicer at the Bohol Beach Club . Very pretty setting at BBC with nipa huts, hamocks, and lounges. Staff nice at both facilities.
