Summit Circle Cebu
Ranked #22 of 91 Hotels in Cebu City
Reviewed June 25, 2013

The Summit Circle in downtown Cebu City is a reliable hotel with many conveniences for short- and longer-term visitors. These include easy access to a range of shopping options at the attached shopping mall including grocery store. The city 'center' is no longer really the center as expansion has moved much of the economic activity to reclaimed areas closer to the airport. However, this is the REAL Cebu City and the hotel staff go out of their way to make your experience pleasant. My only consistent issue is with the poor internet connectivity in the rooms. The neighborhood is not suitable for families with small children but is a good business hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in close proximity to the internet routers in the hallways.

This is a hotel that is hard to find anything wrong with. I have stayed there 3 times and found all the staff to be very helpful and WELL TRAINED. Hotel is in a good position in town although a fair way from the airport and nightmare in very traffic. The rooms are good, clean and roomy and the pool area is pleasant

I spent 3 nights here and liked almost eveything about it. My room was on the 10th floor and had a view of Mactan Island and the pool. Check in and checkout was fast and efficient. The room was well appointed with a flat screen,in room safe, and a nice sitting area. The lobby is bright and clean and the tour desk was helpful. I have to disagree with others about the restaraunt. It was poorly managed and was the only negative of the hotel. The food at the breakfast was cold and the boys dressed as waiters were useless. It might have had a good view, but I'll never know because all of the window tables were left dirty from previous diners (as was most of the dining area) and remained that way through the duration of my stay as the "waiters" hovered in the kitchen.

Has been a few years since I stayed at Summit Circle. The lobby has been improved with helpful staff. One reason I stay there is the free off street parking close to the lobby in the Robinson Mall building, Prices were as good as some older not so nice hotels in cebu. Price included breakfast buffet.
Summit is located near the hospitals malls and entertainment areas. Night time the area has some discos and bars but watch out the beggers street walkers and ladyboys. All in all was
good value.

Spent two nights here last April 2013. I have been staying here for the last twelve or so years, usually two to three nights for business trips to Cebu, about two times a year (except for the last three years). It had it's much deserved renovation/facelift about two years ago. So what has changed?
1. The rooms are still cozy as ever, the aircon is cool and silent. The beddings are clean and fresh. Of course you have a choice of smoking or non-smoking rooms.
2. The toilet/bath also has a new look. The old bathtubs were removed. In place now is a rainfall type shower. Wonder of wonders, they even upgraded the quality of bathsoap and shampoo.
3. The hallways are brighter.
4. The restaurant moved to a new location. Of course, the breakfast buffet is as good as ever. But I miss the grand piano. Where did it go?
5. Convenience-wise it is still tops. A department store and supermarket at the lower levels, lots of eating places nearby, and accessibility to downtown Cebu, Ayala Center and Tabuan market hasn't changed.
6. One disappointment is the WIFI. Connections are limited and weak.
7. Getting to the 4th floor lobby by car is still an adventure. You have to try it to know what I mean. Of course for the less adventurous, you can still use the elevators from the ground floor.
8. The great thing is it's tie-up with Cebu Pacific, its sister company. Present your boarding pass and you get a really big discount in room rates.

Room Tip: Choose the side facing Fuente Osmena. It gives you a great view of the city from 6th Floor upwards...

I had spotted the hotel at the SMILE magazine on our way to Dumaguete, the Cebu Pacific discount has been very helpful.... no problem in checking in, the room is big, no smell of cigarettes... basic accommodations one can look for - mini ref, tv, wifi, neat and clean sheets & bathroom....no coffee maker but thats ok since a lot of restaurants can be found around the area.... very small pool but it was enough to satisfy my youngest...staff has been helpful since i arrived from the guard to the reception to the bellboys to those assigned in the swimming pool area...although some of those in the swimming pool area are OJT, they are very friendly....

their soup and salad buffet was simple but it was worth it if your tired of meats.... the OJT told me to try the pasta buffet, but the salad made me full and besides its night time....maybe next time i'll try it as well as the cake and coffee buffet for pm snack...
