The best time to visit Cebu City is January, the Feast of Santo Nino celebrated the third Sunday of the month. Big festivities all over the city, there' s the Sinulog, the biggest and longest parade you'll ever attended. You can't leave the city without stopping by the church and paying homage to the Holy Child Jesus. There is a nine-day novena held every hour outside the basilica, I usually, go in the middle of the day, since most of the devotees have attended before or after work, or in school. Easy to find a seat or get a shade from the blazing sun.

This is a "Must See" for everyone of every Faith.

Both inside and outside of the Basilica have much to see.

One should plan to attend the "Outdoor" Mass held every Sunday. Sermons are given in several Languages.

Takes 3 minutes to view and hours to imagine what it was like. Beautifully built but a tad bit small. Great surroundings though as you can visit a myriad of other sights within walking distance.

Santo Nino Basilica is one of the oldest church in the Philippines. Its history is incomparable. For many centuries, this place is the center of Catholic practice in the south. There are many areas in this compound that provides information about the history of the place and the old buildings. There is also an area for those who would like to offer their prayers with a candle. The old church gives the feeling of being in another time. The ladies in yellow are staying in front of the old church entrance but will not bother you if you will not look at them in the eye. The area is clean even if there were so many tourists.

It was very touching to see all the locals/visitors paying respect to the oldest catholic church in Cebu. The church is very beautiful and just breathtaking. The gift shop is great for souviners.
