Anone who is a "history buff' or who is aPhilippine citizen needs to visit this showpiece of Cebu's history. The preservation efforts are good and the self-guide tour is a treat for both the eyes and theimagination. DONT MISS IT!!!

“great historical site”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

been here a couple of times and its nice to know our own history as a local! As i have notice the Department of Tourism in Cebu promote it well and its really way more touristy and more improvements...

If your fun of history i think you would like to take it a look...

“San Pedro is worth a visit!”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

If you like old forts, go to San Pedro Fort. It is fun. There are some historical items to see and some nice scenary as well. The President of the Philippines' "Summer Home" is near the Fort. There's also a nice park nearby that looks better and better every year. It is next to the port area. I enjoyed this one as much as Intromuros in Manila and Spanish Fort on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Good stuff!

“Best attraction in Cebu”
Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

There are far more heavily publicised attractions, and others that have perhaps greater historical significance - but in my opinion this is the all round best in the city.

It isn't grand and illustrious but it is quaint, peaceful and well preserved. There is lots of greenery and for what covers a pretty small geographical area, you could easily spend an hour looking around. This aspect is further enhanced by the use of outbuildings to host interesting mini-museums covering art work, stamps of Philippine presidents etc.

The entry fee is an absolute pittance - if it was two or three times more I wouldn't grumble.

Well worth a visit.
