“The crowds are chaos”
Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Magellans cross and the old church are very beautiful. People make pilgrimages to see this. The Filipinos will line up for a very long time to see this and to be prayed for.

The artistry in this place is nothing short if spectacular.

I think what takes away from this is the beggars and the people peddling tourist merchandise. As it should be a sacred site as its a church.

The gardens are beautiful and so are the carvings. It's worth a visit but allow a bit of time because of lines.

“A slice of history”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Although we did not stay for more than 10 minutes in the site. We did have some shots taken. The thing to avoid is entertaining any street vendors, they will literally pester you until buy something.

“part of the orginal cross that Magellan stuck in the ground”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Was not too impressive as it is just a regular wood cross and is supposed to have a splinter or two of the original cross that Magellan put here.

Visited as part of an organised city tour - Interesting area of the city to visit, was a few street vendors around that were a bit of a pest but worth a look around
