Owner description: This is the spot where Ferdinand Magellan planted a cross in the soil in 1521 and claimed the Philippines for Spain.

The Magellan's cross contains a few splinters of the original cross, so they say. Anyway, the place is worth a visit even for just a few minutes. Nothing much to see. It's such a tiny space. Candle vendors will bug you to buy from them so you can make a "wish" inside - just try to ignore them.

i think the house of Magellan's cross - must have been constructed bigger. so that visitors could have a better space on taking their pictures.

im not sure why, but it feels good to see the cross (even though it is probably a replica) that the spaniards brought here in cebu. makes me proud to be a catholic in the philippines.

This is located in the historic center of Cebu. If passing by, I'd suggest to visit briefly, spend 10min to see the cross and the church but don't expect any particular archhitecture, drawings or anything interesting at all..

Its a small attraction as in just a tiny building outside the santo nino basilica. But its very important in the sense it has the Magellan's Cross. Magellan the first person to encircle the globe brought a cross with him from Spain which is kept here. the original one is kept inside a casket which is visible to us. You can light a candle and take pictures too.
