This street is the oldest and the shortest national road in the Philippines. Named after Christopher Columbus by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi. A crowded and bustling street in downtown Cebu City, bit run-down and left behind now. Formerly the site of fashionable shops, offices and movie houses in the 70's and to the 80's. It was once the heart of Cebu City's shopping and business activity, but during the early 1990s much of this urban scene has shifted inland and uptown places, bigger and diverse commercial and business districts now spread in areas of the city in what used to be considered residential and leisure settlements. The street is very conducive for a morning jog. However during the day especially in the night be careful of the robbers and swindlers that thrive this street.
