“What to expect: strong scent of dried fish/squid & good prices:)”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We were there about 25 minutes and we smelled---our hair, our clothes, everything. When we walked into our hotel, one look at our sealed box and the concierge said, "dried fish!" It wasn't a question. No arguments and they stored it away in their storage room until the day we checked out. If you plan to go somewhere else after Taboan Market, pick a place where you won't get thrown out:)))

“Great buys at reasonable prices.”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

We got there by riding one of the jeeps passing along Sergio Osmena Boulevard (I think the jeep's number was either 12J or 12I?) where the ride took around 20 minutes or so and boy did we find out that we were there (the scent was hard to miss). We were surprised to find that the streets were not as populated as we expected (or assumed) but that probably owed to the fact that it was around 4 o'clock on a dark June evening. The vendors there were kind enough to answer our inquiries about the difference between products (Dried fish and Cebuano Longganisa to name a few) and the sources of what they had on offer. Haggling is the key although scouring the market for the best prices is also advised. Prices here are cheaper compared to the ones sold in the airport so it is a worthwhile stopover.

“Amazing sights here”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

You can find the best selection of dried seafood stuff here. For the foreign tourist this is a much, much, much better option to visit than Carbon Market. Be prepared for dirt though and some sights that may be unsettling. There were some amazing skills seen here, e.g. The making of logannissa itself right in the market itself.
