“Good place”
Reviewed December 11, 2013 via mobile

You can find almost everything there. It's a big mall, plenty of restaurants, there is an IMAX and bowling etc...the cash exchange rate is good there for foreign money.

“Large disorganised mall”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

Very large disorganised mall. No store directory you can take even at information centre. Wifi extremely slow if you can connect. Bathrooms not western style, basically hole in the floor. Good for cheap tourist shopping and large selection of food including large supermarket downstairs if you are after local products. Prefer Ayala as cleaner and nicer but definitely cheaper here.

One tip. Do not buy a drink or food before you shop as unlike western shops you are not allowed to enter any shop with any food or drinks and there are no garbage cans to be found either.

“You can spend all day here”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

Not so long ago, it was the 12th biggest mall in the world. But it keeps getting pushed down the list. According to Wikipedia, it is now the 21st biggest mall in the world

It is still a big mall by world standards though.

I have been visiting SM Mall in Cebu City since 1994. Back then, they had an ice skating rink on the bottom level and a roller coaster and other children's entertainment on the top level.

The top level is now part of the SM department store. The Ice skating rink is now a huge food court on the bottom level with the children's entertainment next to the food court.

If you want cheap dining, the food court is the place to dine.

The children's entertainment includes all the usual such as cars and motorbikes that you sit in and drive according to the big screen in front of you and lots and lots of video games. There is a type of slot machine where you insert one piso tokens and try and win tickets which are redeemable for prizes, there is a mini carousel, a mini train ride, a mini plane ride, a train ride that runs the full length of the bottom level of the mall and my favourite, the bump cars. You can pay for the rides individually or pay P200 to ride seven rides all day. The seven rides includes the bump cars, carousel and the train rides.

The mall has all the usual mall shopping. Plus it has
- An IT section for all things computers, monitors, phones and ipads. Some of the stores are like a small supermarket for building your own computer.
- A supermarket style duty free store
- An art gallery (presently closed)
- A 3 section trades hall which is always showing off something. When it is building products they have the whole 3 sections open together. That is when I like to go into the trades hall
- 8 cinemas. One of the cinemas is an Imax Theatre.
- Multiple dining choices from budget to fine dining
- A huge ten pin bowling centre
- Cars for display and sale. Sometimes the vehicles on display are the latest design jeepney.
- Multiple child care centres
- Travel agents

On the outside of the mall, it has a jeepney terminal and V-hire terminal. For travelling within the city and to other locations on the island of Cebu.

Also at the rear of the mall, not accessible from inside the mall is the Traveller's centre. In the traveller's centre, you can arrange to buy plane and boat tickets such as a ticket to Bohol on a fast ferry. They also have luggage storage and showers. You have to pay to use the showers and store luggage. The price for luggage storage is P50 per day or P30 half a day. and they say it is for the luggage you can fit in one of their compartments. Recently, I paid P30 for 2 hand carry size bags for 4 hours.

There are multiple public toilets through out the mall but they don't provide toilet tissue in the cubicles. Toilet tissue is available from a huge roll as you enter the bathroom so you have to get your supply before you enter the cubicle.

“Big mall with what comes with it...”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Big shopping center with all the stores you may need (including big pharmacy, grocery store, etc.) and big restaurant chains (McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut and so on).

It is clean, modern and... a shopping centre, what else to day. Practical, but just a shopping centre.
