“Waste of money-just another place to show off..”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

forget dining here unless your purpose is to be seen and show off. On the other hand- if you want to shop..they do have lots of choices of imported goodies -cheese..cold cuts and such... a bit costly but good choice. BUT FORGET DINING HERE. WHAT A TOTAL WASTE of money. Few years back- it wasn't this bad. Now.... they serve u peanuts for 1,000 pesos. Better go somewhere like the Mexican place in Crossroads or Casa verde...at least u had some good food for the money u spend!

“Great deli, good resto tho expensive for what you get”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Tinderbox is a good go to place in Cebu. It has a nice deli albeit expensive for what you get but the choices are extensive as well. It has a wine shop and a resto, where the food is a hit and miss. I have tried it and gotten too many misses that I just relied on the wagyu pizza as a staple. Still the ambiance, if in the cellar, is good. The deli is brighter and more open. It is a good place to unwind for Cebu, just make sure to bring lots of cash with you.

“Classy Deli”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I like the layout of the restaurant as it is simple and classy. Near the entrance are big glass windows, metal table, comfortable seats. If their wine cellar is available, try to dine there as the two long wood tables and chairs situated in the middle of the room with the wines as the background looks so grand. Service is good. Staff are very attentive.
Food is yummy. One of my favorite is their schublig and their cheese fondant-not in the menu but you can order.
I recommend this place.

“Expensive for what you eat”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

Been going to the deli restuarant every time we visit Cebu over many years. The service is always good but this time we found it to be expensive and the food not as good as previous visits.

“Expensive, but a nice little bit of luxury”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

It's hard to get all the little things you miss from Europe when in the Philippines, and the tinderbox offers most of them from the hams and cheeses to the ingredients for cooking those special french and italian dishes.
They serve some excellent food, and it's a great hangout for a coffee. At Christmas time they had a Santa on a Sleigh (well on a horse and carriage), who came giving out candy and presents to the children, which we thought was great.
I'd definately visit again, but would also recommend Gustavian for the deli stuff too.
