I had a quick weekend stay end of September 2012 with my family in this hotel to attend a wedding. This would be my 3rd or 4th in the hotel. I say it is a resort hotel in the city because at first look or to those who were unaware, you may consider it as a resort as it is beach side, has luscious space and greens and nice pool areas. The hotel however is a bit dated, slowly running down and would need refurbishment soon.

We stayed at a deluxe room with balcony facing the side garden. Room is very spacious with an equally very spacious (but a bit empty) balcony. TV cable in every room (with individual digibox) and tub in the bathroom was a plus. Internet is also complimentary. Breakfast in Café Uno was good considering it is complimentary.

Beach side is not recommended for swimming though due to proximity of the city canal.

Will definitely consider staying here again once back in the city.

Room Tip: deluxe rooms with pool view are nice, but at the very least, get rooms with balcony

The location is great - overlooking Samal island and davao gulf.
Customer Service - staff are warm and hospitable. They make you feel important.
Rooms - cozy. Feels like home.
Food - sumptuous! you don't want to stop eating!

Location is good both for business and leisure travelers visiting Davao.
Pitty the hotel looks old and just sufficiently maintained.
The pool area is great, is a great looking pool but not suitable for small kids.
No other entertainment area for families in my opinion.
Restaurants are plentiful but menu are boring.
Good value for money, it could be a higher level hotel with better management and services

I have been in Waterfront several times. It's a very relaxing place where to spend a short holiday. Big rooms, very silent, nice pool, good service.
Great garden!
You can't swim in the sea but the view is very nice. The bar in the harbour is unique and gave us a fresh moment at the end of the day.
Gentle staffs. Easy to get a cab.
Breakfast buffet is OK, nothing really great.
Negative... prices in the hotel restaurant. Poor wine selection.
Ask before booking if there is a wedding in the garden. It's noisy and the hotel become a mess.

Room Tip: Looking at the pool!
