“Needs an upgrade, big time.”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

stayed for two nights at this downtown hotel. The location was quite good but the hotel really needs to upgrade as all the elevators, light switches, bathroom fittings, carpets, beds, television look very old and tired already. If you bring your own vehicle, parking is a nightmare.

Room Tip: all rooms are old and tired, cannot recommend any kind at all.

Late 2010.
I like the buffet breakfast, it completes my day.
The place looks old, it looks like one of the classic place in Davao City. Reception staff are not friendly, and the carpets smells moldy even inside the room.
I will not get back to this Hotel again, for me its better to try the new one.

Stayed here about 8 years ago. Told my self I'm never comming back but I did. Big mistake!

They said they renovated the rooms.

Painting a 30 year old furniture is not renovating.

Dirty dirty carpet. Dusty filthy curtains.

They dont lend out irons. You are forced to avail the laundry service.

TV is older that my nephews.

Service staff here from the bell man, front desk, waiters must have a bad life. They dont even smile. Only one guy from the concierge and one cleaning lady showed a smile.

Dark hallways at night. Scarry.

Last, theres a certain smell that i cant figure out. I think its the old dirty carpet thats stinky.

Had an overninght stay in this nice hotel which is in the middle of town juts beside the People's Park. What separates this hotel from other hotels in Davao is its' rich history. It has been around for more than 60 years already. You can feel old world charm when you come inside the hotel lobby. A lunge and a nice restaurant with a dress code serves delicious food. There are also shops for jewelry and clothes that are lined-up leading to the elevator lobby.

Corridors leading to the rooms are not airconditioned. My room was very pleasant. Even if it has old furnishings, it was very comfortable and clean. TV was an old set but is complete with cable.

Breakfast has a wide array of food. It had nice interiors but the tables are somewhat uncomfortable chairs.

I know that this hotel needs refurbishments. I hope that a major investor will take a nice look of this hotel that has a great potential. Surely this will be Davao City's premier hotel if that time will come.

My daughter just recently celebrated her 18th birthday at the Top of the Apo and I must say we had a wonderful experience! The staff are friendly, helpful, and very patient in answering all my queries. I admire their in-house artist and the talented florist (JC) for their awesome job! Also our compliments to the chef for our guests loved the food!

I got the diamond package so there's a separate check in for that which was not good at all. I had to wait over 20 minutes before they checked me in. I think it would have gone much faster if I did it at the reception. The room is big, comfortable and clean but old fashioned design which is not a big deal. It had great toiletries, complimentary water, coffee and tea. Had dinner at Entre which was a buffet and was very nice although much more expensive than the rest of the city's eateries. They gave me a late check out until 4 which was great. Great security at the door and in general the staff were very friendly. Check out was a breeze.
