Tucked away between all bars is a Dutch restaurant " De bonte koe" The Dutch owner is very friendly and helpful. Do not expect high end Cuisine at this place but a good meal is what you can get. The staff is friendly .

Personally i think it is a bit highly priced but the food you get is tasty. And i love the cold beer with Bitterballen :-))

“A great change from Filipino food. Great food and service. Recommended.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

Looked at TripAdvisor and other sites and, after eating there tonight, we can confirm the excellent rating for both food and service.Henny is a great host and we loved the Mango Soup, Pea Soup, medium/rare Tenderloin wrapped in Bacon and the Rabbit Stew. My wife found the Endive a little bitter for her taste but I liked my portion of it. The house red wine was not bad and the coffee was great. As a change from the local food, it was an excellent choice and we'll be back. Recommended.

“Excellent food! Cozy place, nice ambiance.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

In the first place, I have to make a point that the mapping misguided us. It has to be checked. It is NOT within the inner road along the Diversion Road or the C. P. Garcia in Buhangin with a Rizal Street in its inner residential area as posted. This is actually situated somewhere along Rizal street within the compound of the Habana hotel at the city center in between San Pedro and Bonifacio Streets.

And so we found this place at last! It was noon time and we were able to come in this cozy place with nice pleasant ambiance and welcoming staff. The Dutch owner came shortly and was able to inform us the specialty and the nice Dutch stuffs as decoration that made the special character of the place.

The food was great in varied choices. From the main course to desert it was excellent. The tenderloin tip and the Kebab was satisfying and I liked the Dutch apple pie very much.

We will come back to this restaurant again.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012 via mobile

This is only the second time that I enjoyed being in a restaurant in Davao.
The food was fenominal especially the steak tartare, only one time I had it better, and that was in Brussels, Belgium.
The atmospher was great and the service very good. I do recommend this restaurant to anybody who likes fine dining in the Philippines, especially in Davao. The owner has his heart on the right place to keep this restaurant already going for so long, and the locals who have a chance to work there will have an incredible experience to put on their résumé.
