If you are looking for affordable place to stay in, Tahanan ni Aling Meding is highly commendable. Only few hrs away from manila. Located along downtown San Pablo so there won't be any hassle for one to look for a dining place. Room rate is affordable, staff are friendly. The room where we stayed is spacious , Aside from aircon, there is also ceiling fan.We enjoyed our stay since our veranda is facing Sampaloc view and Mt. Banahaw. such a lovely view specially in the morning where i can see sun rises. Am quite particular with comfort rooms and somehow it satisfies my standard - spacious, with hot and cold shower, towels are fresh.
definitely, i'll be back in this place soon.

Room tip: if you want to see the view from your room, I recommend that you stay on a higher floor

We got the executive room and it was huge. It comes with a terrace too, overlooking Sampaloc Lake. The room has a big bathroom with Jacuzzi but dated and kind of spooky (or maybe it was just me). The bed was hard. The price was a bit too much with just 2 towels and 2 small soaps (not even a toothbrush nor a toothpaste) for their toiletries.

The venue of this small lodge is convenient - not too far from civilization yet close to nature. You can go for a jog every morning and enjoy the sunrise as the lake is right across the mansion. Rooms are spacious but the air conditioning takes time to cool down the room. Breakfast is so-so but their WiFi is fast.

Get dinner elsewhere as their ramen is too salty, and its consistency is more like Filipino style mami than ramen. The grilled viands were tastier.

Room tip: Do not accept rooms at the ground floor as they look like servants' quarters.

+ Nice view of the lake. Get a room with a view overlooking the lake.

- Paper thin walls --- i can hear the tv in the other room until past midnight
- Breakfast didn't include fruits. When we requested some, they were absolutely frozen!
- Had to pay an extra P250 when we checked out 30 mins late --- most places I've stayed at didn't require paying any additional fee for such

Room tip: Face the lake
