“Bad to good”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We just celebrated my gf's bday last may 10 2014. It was a bad start for us since we already late for out check in time for 2 pm then when we arrive at around 4 pm the villa with pool is no longer available they said that the air conditioning is not working they sent us to the bar with free drinks then after 10 to 15 mins they call us as said they apologize and they will upgrade our villa from 2 room to 5 room villa with a pool now that is a really good customer service action. The 5 room villa is very very good all have queen size bed with bathroom and jacuzzi plus flat screen tv. the pool is also very good warm water. All I can say is thank you for that wonderful experience.......

Everything needs improvement. The sofas are old and raggy, the fridge is very, very old, bed sheet does not look and feel fresh, and the towels are dirty white.

The staff manning the gate was asking us to pay 1,500 pesos for the "lechon" which we okayed, but upon reaching the villa she said it is 3,500. We pulled out the lechon just so we dont pay the corkage.

The A/C was not working on the third room.

Arrogant and poorly trained staff, Our group got three 3-bedroom villas, spacious but musty and old. Asude from the water park, i would've stayed in a hotel in Manila for the same rate.
Accompanied the kids from our group at the water park, youngest is three. Water park entance card swiper girls are extremely arrogant, lacks professionalism and training. Told us we an stay and swim if we have the reciept with our passes, told them ill just follow it up since the villa was quite a walk from the park but wouldn't let us in even if the kids were already crying, wanting to swim. I know that they just be following orders or SOPs but they could have atleast told us nicely and not roll eyes and act as if we were uneducated scums and treated us like we couldn't afford. To the management, teach your staff to handle guests. They should at least be understanding enough. Our stay was arranged by a friend whose family is a member, it was our first time at Fontana and after everything, we were not enticed at all to get the membership. Old musty villas, NO hot water, NO free Wifi. These are things i could let go but to have uneducated, rude staff that acted as if you owe them for staying, handle and ruin your vacay is definitely not something to consider especially if you're paying good money. Wifi is for a fee of 500 for 24 hours but with a deposit 14k.

This hotel is perfect for groups because if you are staying on the Villas, they are not that strict when it comes to the minimum and maximum capacity. Cooking is also allowed so it would make you save money.

ROOMS/ VILLA:
It is very spacious so a lot of people could stay there. The beds and the rooms are nice and comfortable and everything is working well. It would just be better if they have a bidet spray for the water closet. There is also a room for the driver and a separate comfort room so you wouldn't have to worry about privacy.

AMENITIES:
Walking around is fun since there are a lot of great and relaxing sights. Photo ops would be great! :) On the other hand, the only free access on the amenities during our stay is the olympic size swimming pool. You would have to pay additional for the other pools which I think is around 450 per head.

Room Tip: choose villas on areas A to C which are near the water park

I appreciated the quick response they gave with regards my inquiry. They were able to address all my questions and gave me the payment details. Despite the peak season (we went the week of April 17-19, 2014 - which was the "Holy Week" in the country), we were just so glad that we got a 3-bedroom villa.

When we got to the villa, although it had the basic amenities - it obviously needed some updating. The bathroom curtains had rust stains on it and the drain didn't have a cover.

Second, it would greatly help to add more outlets. We needed to charge our cellphones/cameras and there was only one outlet in the room by the table and the lamp was already plugged in. In order to plug our cellphones, we needed to either remove the lamp's cord or charge it using the outlets under the TV across the beds..

Third, we didn't realize almost everything had a charge - we booked the 3-bedroom villa and that was almost all we got. Yes, it came with breakfast for 6 adults and access to the olympic-sized pool but inside the villa - there was an electric stove but you had to rent the pots or pans as well as any additional plates, glasses and utensils. We had booked in previous villas before but it somehow came with the basic things one needed to be able to cook a decent meal.

Since we travelled with our kids, we were not too ecstatic about facilities for the kids. Of course the water park and the hot spring park was there but the water park would charge P475/person whether you're a child or adult and the hot spring charged Php200/person. There were no special rates or arrangements for those who were actually booked in the villas/hotel. I just hope they could extend special rates to those booked since they were earning more from just our stay than for those who were "walk-ins" to the water park or the hot spring.

I wish management can seriously look into these suggestions and details so that more guests can enjoy their stay. The villas have a unique charm and really they can highlight that if only they can pay more attention to details.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with your family, it's best to get a villa - they have 2-3 bedroom villa...

our company held our annual team building activities aka summer outing here at this resort and it was good. lots of space to accommodate almost a thousand employees. lots of trees and shade it is is quiet at night so that's a good thing I guess. the location isn't good if you are going to use public transportation. easier if you have a car otherwise, coming from manila, you have to ride a bus then a jeepney then a cab to go inside the resort. Cab fare will reach at least 350 one way. We stayed in a villa and it is quite spacious. Has hot and cold shower, a fridge, parking area and toiletries. I would say the highlight of the place aside from the casino is their water park. You'd pay 800+php for whole day pass, 650 for day pass and night pass (7-10pm) for 450. They also have a shot spring which costs 200php. They have an olympic pool but can only take 2 guests per villa. The restaurant offerings are a little bit expensive, well given that you are actually in the middle of nowhere so you dont really have a choice unless you want to cook your own food. Didnt notice though if you can as I didnt pay attention if there is a stove in the kitchen. The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, I would say if you are not into gambling, better find another resort with breath taking views because I know there are plenty.

Room Tip: You would want to get the villa near the water park and the reception area as everything is accessib...

Ive been here twice.

First was last dec2011, our group stayed on the 5 bedroom villa. Our first experience was actually great... clean rooms, good water supply both hot and cold, clean bathroom, clean pool, big house.

thats why we all agreed to come here again because of the good experience.... but we were disappointed!!!

We booked a 5 bedroom villa again.... but this time, the villa looks so worn out! it was just so disapponting...

First, the villa we got only have 3 bedrooms with big bathrooms, the other 2 was small (small bathroom, no bathtub). The villa we got last time is much better because all 5 rooms are big.

I stayed on the smaller room this time... it was horrible. There's a bad smell coming from the toilet! the shower faucet fell when i was taking a bath... the water is not hot, its actually warm.

Our villas backyard was not even cleaned when we checked in! There's trash all over!! (disposable utensils, chips wrapper, used grill with used charcoal in it!)

The villa's pool was dirty! and the exterior paint of the villa obviously needs a maintenance. Poor airconditioning also.

And when we checked out they said that there's 3 saucers missing and we need to pay 300 for it! We're pretty sure, the villa only has 3 when we got there but they insisted that it was 6... How could they know that? they did not even bother to check our villa before they gave it to us! They did not even clean it or put towels in our rooms (we had to call to request)....

OVERPRICED piece of crap. Dont ever stay here.
