Eventhough i stayed here for overnight, the place is very good and it is near to malls. Foods are ok, but the room which is the smallest one is not good which does not have a phone signal, i like the service specially when u book/reserved the transportation from hotel to the airport. A little bit noisy coz the hotel is located at the main road but its fine with me. ^_^

We stayed at Kabayan hotel as we had to take a flight next day.

Location -
Good, just 15 minutes from the airport. However, the taxi which the hotel concierge caught for us ( I remember the concierge telling him to charge y the meter) told us after 2 minutes that he would take us only if we overpaid triple, and since we disagreed, he just told us to disembark midway at 5:30 am! We made a complaint of the taxi driver. Welcome to Cheaters of Manila.

Actual cost of taxi = 140 peso
Cost claimed by taxis hanging around outside the hotel = 400 pesos

Rooms -
are very good. though they have a window which only faces a drab wall, the room was bright, and though small, it was comfy. Bed was very soft, we had a writing table, cup boards, good clean hot water shower.

Free breakfast -
Given by hotel is ok - the best part is that they serve it since 4 am - ideal for early flights. They also offered to pack it for us if we wished. I found that a considerate gesture

Wifi / internet -
Is terrible. there was nil internet all over our floor. I tried the lobby with the same result (many others too were trying, with zero result). I tried int eh business center with equally poor results (it took 5-10 minutes to upload a single Google search!!!). The hotel staff was equally helpless.

Booking -
Was simple - done online. The rates were competitive

Check in -
Took ages! I have no idea why!

stayed for stop over. rooms not special. budget price. location not so nice . did not feel safe at might time outside. as it went dark, the area full of smoke. we felt confined to the hotel. we used the hotel internet to reserve our next hotel. the internet was un secure. when we got home. our credit cards had been accessed. we cant be sure where, exactly. but may take a guess.

Room Tip: location near the mrt system plus near to rotunda , handy for other transport. and yess traffic is s...

Stayed here last year in March... was dissappointing at first for the price, the room was so small and near the main road... (so ask for a room at the back and higher level if possible)... the foyer looks great, people seemed ok, food ok.

We later got a nicer room with newer ameneties but still the traffic noise was unbearable... only book if you can sleep through the noise.

Location is fantastic if you need shopping at your finger tips, SMOA is nearby and so is the airport.

Room Tip: higher floor levels and in the back/ southside.... ask nicely and you may be surprised.. :)

I noticed a few negative comments on the check in check out procedure My experience was very good both times
I was given a room upgrade on arrival the hotels choice I think they were very full
The room was clean tidy and nice
The staff very welcoming and Tony the transport driver a really good guy
I would recommend the hotel transport as they are very reasonable and know the back streets to avoid the inevitable long delays in traffic in Manila
Breakfast was included and was fine for local fare

The Philippines is gaining ground on standards all the time. The Kabayon is very nice. The rooms are small, but that is Asia. I loved the room, and it was well featured. The staff is excellent, and the breakfast is usually horrible, but free so who is complaining. The service is excellent.

We stayed there last July 10-12, 2012. The room 226 is clean, spacious but it's near the street and I can hear a lot of noise coming from there. The toilet is separate from the shower room. The breakfast and lunch was not that good. Internet service was superb. Very close to the Metro Point Mall where you can do some supermarket shopping or fast food hunting,

Room Tip: Request for a quiet room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Kabayan Hotel, one of the most preferred hotels of OFWs and city travelers looking for great-value accommodation in Metro Manila, is a triumph of true Filipino hospitality. From the time guests are met at the airport and throughout each moment of their stay, travelers experience an extraordinary kind of welcome and care that is uniquely Filipino. All of the 276 reasonably priced rooms are thoughtfully prepared, each with a minimalist but functional design. The accommodations have air-conditioning, cable TV, and private toilet and bath. Further facilities include complimentary Wi-Fi access, airport transfer, and parking (limited slots available). But the real allure of the hotel lies somewhere in the quiet moments in between: eating halo-halo at the Pinoy Star Cafe, or indulging in a mouthwatering plate of crispy pata while spending quality time with loved ones. Indeed, this place provides a home for everybody - the reason why guests keep on coming back and find it hard to leave.
