A few yes and more nos for a hotel whose flair is long expired.
Location is good, close to airport and Mall of Asia (with shuttle bus, as apparently walking there may not be safe, according to locals). Some staff is courteous and helpful (while some other is less, and a smile is not always a given).
Now, some no: rooms are old and in need for refurbishment. Specially the bathroom: due to water presence, its maintenance should be more frequent than the room. But here both seem to be quite behind the schedule of some due maintenance. Rooms facing EDSA are noisy, there is no double glazing, so traffic noise (day AND night) and heat build up near the desk and bed. Not the best conditions to have a good sleep.
Internet connection is chargeable, 7 $ a day. But if you connect your PC by wire and you want to use the wireless network ( for smartphone / iPad) then you pay twice!! Happened to me. Also, wireless connection is lousy, it keeps on getting disconnected and there’s few things more annoying when you work than not knowing if your email will go thru or not.
Food for breakfast and dinner is just acceptable, selection is not very wide if you expect a real international buffet (it’s more Asian than western style). Also the restaurant is badly in need of some radical re-styling. Ugly floor, no one sends you to the table (at least at breakfast), so you have to find a free table by yourself.
All in all, not worth the stars it’s boasting for itself. And the money that you pay for a room plus the extras.
