“Yakimix-Yummy Mix”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

My first visit to this restaurant was in 2009. It was in Pasay branch along Macapagal Avenue. Tt was a birthday treat by a colleague. Since then, I've been bringing friends and relatives for birthdays, anniversary celebrations and countless gustatory trips.

Wide array of choices are available. From the protein section, they offer beef and pork on stick or with wrapped enoki mushrooms, seafoods (shrimp, cuttlefish, squid and of course Salmon from head to tail). The sushi choices are endless and are very colorful (delicious) to look at.
My better half would always indulge on their Tuna and Salmon sashimi.

If you want their pre-cooked food, they have noodles, lechon kawali, tempura, fish stew, mushrooms and other veggies on their buffet table. You choose whether to get the cooked or the raw food and the staff will prepare their smokeless grill on your table.
The set-up is similar to Tong Yang (without the soup). It's purely grilling.

Variety of desserts can make one leave the resto weighing almost a ton.
Unlimited ice cream, pastries, salad, fruits, etc. etc.

If it's your birthday, the staff will prepare a birthday song with matching slice of cake as they loudly sing in group walking towards where you're seated. They'll create such scene that will make you feel like you own the place.

Over-all eating experience is fun.
Price per pax for eat-all-you can on weekdays lunch and dinner are different from weekends.
Average is Php600/person.

I've been to their Pasay, MOA, Podium and newly opened Robinson's Place Manila branches.

Over-all, experience and food are both great!
Recommended for large group with huge appetites!

“A budget buffet, quantity over quality.”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

At first glance it is really a nice and big buffet restaurant, but once the food comes to your mouth its bland. Although there are some dishes that are very good and exceptional. The shrimp tempura is the favorite of almost all the customers as i didnt get any in my last visit, but its okay as they have various tempura and sushi lined up. Drinks are not part of the buffet so better get water instead.

There are some dishes that are tasty because you are the one to grill it as they provide this It is very very filling as most of the served sushi are all jampacked of rice, so it expands in your stomach.

I just give it average as i have been to better buffet restaurants.

“I love this place”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Yakimix is a perfect place for a group who is looking for an enjoyable food trip. This place is better than the one in Mall of Asia which is too crowded and noisy. But still you need to place a reservation because the place is almost always full. I've been here maybe 5 times and I never had regrets being here. We usually come in a group of 7-10.

“Not really the best”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

we ate here once because we thought it is worth the money and we often see a lot of people eating and still many poeple waiting outside to be seated so we expected that they really have the best japanese food. But I would say, Dad's Resto in Glorietta is much better with choices of food and service. :)
